Note: This is how I felt when we split right about 3 years ago! And still do in a way, if that can make any since.

    I should add that being a single father on mothers day is a little ruff when you got kids who do miss thier mother!

    I can understand them missing thier mother because they have not seen her in 2 years. But it is hard to make them realize that we are better off now than we were before me and the EX split up.

    You obviously have not been a single father!

    I truely think a single father faces more challenges than a single mother, expecially when one of those children is a little girl who is begining to reach an age that changes start happening!

    Thing will be allright! They have to be, as I have the kids to think about.

    I went with my oldest son to my ex-wifes grave this morning and placed flowers on it. You find, in time, that your children love you both, and while together, the two of you created life that can never be forgotten or replaced. Don't wait until one of you dies to make peace.

    We had reached the point where we didn't socialize, but we could celebrate together the successes in our son's and grand children's life without dragging up any issues between the two of us. I made peace with all of her family at her funeral, and I am thankful for all of it.

    She and I stood together at my son's wedding and greeted friends and relatives as proud parents and even gave each other a hug when we parted. We did the same at each birth of our grand children. Bury hatred for the sake of happiness.

    Danny, I can relate!

    Me and the EX can talk on the phone now and get along (of course she is 3000 miles away), we just could not get along while married.

    And I will not say I was the perfect angel in the marredge either.

    But after I got hurt and could not work anymore and found out the things that had gone on behind my back it was time to call it quites!

    Of course she tried to play me off as the bad guy to the kids and still does to an extent as she told our daughter today that I would not let her move back home.

    I explained to my daughter that I hadno problem if thier mom moved here to South Carolina but that she would not live in our home as we were not married anymore and that we could not live in the same house.
