ANTS IN THE HUMMINGBIRD FEEDER
I know I'll get alot of stupid replies from people that spent 100 hours a week in this forum, but how do you stop giant ants from invading a feeder?

OK, I'm going to try a Wallie here. This is what I do to all my feeders. It works great and lasts a long time. The ant powder (poison) you can get at your local farm outlet. [:)][:)]
Made with baling wire and a 2" PVC pipe cap....
I TRIED THIS FILLED WITH WATER. IT WORKS GREAT!
THANKS[:)]0 -
I just bought ant guards which are filled with water. Get them at Wild Birds unlimited among other places. Probably find them on line. 0 -

Speaking of hummingbirds, a few years ago we had a few we were feeding and they must have nested somewhere.
One day these baby hummingbirds showed up. They were so cool! They were super tiny just like a bug. Cutest durn little things I ever did see! They hung around for a couple months until they got big, feeding multiple times a day.
We were eating watermelon once out on the porch and one of the little guys came right down and landed on the rail to the deck right next to my wife. We held real still, he was eyein' that watermelon. When he buzzed off, we quickly went inside, leaving the watermelon. Two adults and two babies came down and feasted on that melon. It was really cool!
Now that would have been super nice to experience. I have never seen baby hummingbirds, just adult ones.0
