Gun decisions, yet again.

The Krag strikes me as overpriced. I see them in better condition for less money. At the last local show I saw a nicely sporterized one for $250.

The welding on the receiver would definitely concern me, too. Easy to take all the temper out of the action with careless application of heat.

My advice is buy the TC if you want it but keep looking for the Krag you want.

The problem with the Krag is that it only has one locking lug on the bolt rather than two like most other bolt guns have. You don't want to hot rod a Krag. But I like mine and have been shooting it for years with moderate loads.

The Krags (especially the carbines) in original condition will fetch a lot of money. But the ones that have been cut-down shouldn't be hard to find at $300 or less.

Sounds like you don't reload. You should start to fully utilize the TC calibers.

Get a Encore frame and shop around for a barrel you'll actually use (unless you've got a thing for the 218 Bee)
