COMPUTER QUESTION - WINDOWS OR NORTON FIREWALL?

    You do not need a firewall if you are using a home router and are on a private network like 192.168.

    Norton is no longer the great company they were when I was a big believer in them... of course, that was 15 years ago...

    I'd use the windows one. And if you have DSL or cable, get a router (Linksys or Netgear)

    Forget both of them and get the free version of Zonealarm.

    The firewall in a router is 10 times better then any software firewall on the market. Plus they are cheaper!

    shoff14 - I'll put up any "home grade" router against an old pc running either one of the BSDs (net, open, or free) wtih pf or a Linux box running iptables/netfilter.

    Only exception to this would be a Linksys running Linux already.... :)
