I tried to send him an e-mail to tell him how wrong he is, but I have to pay nearly $50 to become a premium member just to be pithy.

He is on live right now, and sounding so stupid it makes me want to reach through the radio and choke him out.[}:)]

This clown is going to be the next Zumbo if he does not stop while he is ahead.[:(!]

I just heard him cut a guy off on his radio show. The guy was talking about the Police confiscating firearms from citizens during Katrina, and O'Reilly cut him off and told him it didn't happen, and to get his facts straight. Wow is this guy a jerk or what?[:(!]

Did that really happen or is it part of the urban legend? I can't recall news of this.

Bill O' Jerky does not like guns or the NRA. Since N.O. Residents initally reported it to the NRA; he [O'jerkey] will do anything to discredit them. What do you expect from a guy in NewYuck. [V][V][:(!][:(!][:(!]

Go see for yourself. There's plenty of video, plus if you read the news, Nagin & Co. are in contempt of court for not returning the guns that were never confiscated.

That is not what he said. He in fact admitted that this happened tonight on his TV show, and that he is supported of sensible gun laws, but does not support banning our second amendment rights. He said and I quote, if you think for one minute that the Federal Government is going to protect you, you are wrong, citizens have the right to own firearms to protect themselves!!!

O'Reilly was just on talking about guns and gun laws. He came across okay. He talked about Katrina and the fact that folks have a right to protect themselves during such times. And, he had an NRA representative on with him, by the name of Mark Smith, as they both discussed guns laws, Virginia's laws in particular, to include, a quick note regarding armed students. Fair and Balanced, most especially, when one considers which other network has thus far invited the National Rifle Association media time on the VT murders.

Anybody that thinks that O'Reilly is even a SMIDGEN pro-gun is part of theproblem.

I HEARD him talk about how "If the State wants to know how many guns you have..they have the authority to demand it".

He didn't say a word about banning guns. Pay attention. Actually he said good people should/ needs to be able to protect themselves. Don't know about the radio show. Didn't take Rose O'dumba** very long to chime in, did it !

O'Reilly certainly did not make any points with the Gun-Control freaks by engaging in a conversation with a National Rifle Association representative brought on by the VT massacre. If anything, he would have infuriated them. That being said, it's noteworthy that a National Rifle Association reepresentative was given the opportunity to be seen and heard on real time TV around the world, by none other than Bill O'Reilly, himself. It might also be noted that Bill O'Reilly did not attack this NRA man on any comment he made, nor did he disagree with him on the two armed-student remarks he made, either.

How can Dicktater O'Reilley be fair and balanced if he cuts people off without letting them speak? [V]

I don't think you will see a NRA member on the view anytime soon. Some of the idiots on his show won't shut up so he has to cut some of them off or extend the show 2 hours.

Mr. O'Reilly had changed is tune some what between the time he was on his radio show, and when he went on his TV show. He was acting the fool on his radio show. Someone must have educated him between shows. However, he is sticking with the anti's sensible gun law stance. Sensible gun laws can only be interpreted has registration, and longer waiting periods at a minimum.

Actually I was surprised by O'Reilly's interview with the NRA guy last night.

The last time I saw a pro-gun guy on his show O'Reilly kept yelling things like "You don't NEEEEEEED a machine gun!" and "You don't NEEEEEED a bazooka!"

Last night, when presented with a perfect opportunity to attack, O'Reilly dropped the hysterical ranting and actually listened to what the other guy had to say.

I wouldn't say I'm in agreement with Mr. O, but maybe there is still some hope for him.....

You are probably correct about O'Reilly changing his mind somewhat between his radio broadcast and his TV show yesterday. And, I am sure that you would agree that O'Reilly ahould get an Attaboy for doing such an improvement.

America has tens of millions of folks just like him who have strong feelings that some sort of gun control is necessary. The enviornment that he has always lived in has a lot to do with how he feels about this. The vast majority of the people who believe this way would change their tune quickly, if they had to choose between some private gun ownership or no private gun ownership. Consequently, these people, like Bill O'Reilly, are level headed enough to realize that private ownership of firearms is protected by the constitution, and for good reason.

American youth today are taught in K-12 that GUNS ARE BAD! Not by all teachers and administrators, but by a great many of them! Given this fact, is there any wonder that lots of Americans have been brainwashed into believing what O'Reilly said is true, especially with the media propaganda along these same lines?

...well I like (ed) O'Rielly...he dropped a notch or two in the "respect department" unless I hear something different from him...I turned the channel after he said:..."lax" VA gun laws...and "apparantly buying a gun in VA is as easy as buying milk". At least he doesn't advocate immediate new gun laws, but, it's clear he is speaking from the point of ignorance on this subject...so he need's to get an education or shut the hell up on this subject...[;)]

At the end of O'Reillys pro-gun speech he mentions something about "that from a memo".
I got the feeling this this was given to him to read and not his opinon.

It's not hard to see why most of the population has a "thing" against guns. Since most of the people live in or immediately around cities, under what circumstances or when do they see guns in much of a positive manner?

About the only time they run across some form of encounter with firearms, either directly or indirectly, it is because something bad has happened. They see robberies, shootings, car jacking, and gang wars, but very little peaceful use, and virtually no events of self protection.

The only other real visible evidence they see of firearm use and carry is in the hands of the police, and just look at how many here just can't wait to get a chance to demonstrate their hate for the police. The chance that these people will find a positive use for the weapons is very slight under those circumstances to say the least.

Those of us who live in the rural areas tend to have an entirely different perspective on the value of weapons, both as a tool for pleasure and a means of protection. We also tend to have a considerably different view of exactly who or what it might be that poses the danger requiring the protection in the first place. There are many forms of intruders, and not all come at night.[:)]

He supports "sensible" gun laws, i.e. registration and licensing. But it's not surprising to see so many sheeple in here sucking O'Reilly's c**k, even when he expresses his support for "sensible" gun control. He had an NRA rep on, BFD, that makes him a friend of gun owners? Isn't the NRA that pseudo gun rights org that also supports "sensible" gun control? I'm sure the Fox News honchos sent him a memo telling him to cool it with the support for gun control, so as to not alienate his "base", but I think we've heard how he really feels on the subject. F**k him.

It's also not very hard to see why many of the national figures have come to the conclusion that it is just not worth the time, effort, or grief they take in order to be even mildly supportive of gun "rights". No matter what they say, it won't be good enough for many, and those folks can't just let it go, they have to be nasty and mean in their display of displeasure.

Why would anyone express support for us just to get crapped on by both sides? It just gets to be easier for them to vote against us; at least they only get reviled by one side that way.

If you're going to be damned either way you go, most folks will eventually take the path that causes them the least problems, and we don't seem to be it.

Point made. I did not like those remarks either, COLT. However, Let O'Reilly talk, just as long as he gives air time to other folks like the NRA rep who is on opur side.

It's apparent that some people don't like Bill O'Reilly. That's okay, but is it any reason to call folks who try to make some sense about issues C**K S*****S. This reminds me of Michelle Malkin when she told the racist Malik Zulu Shabazz, "if there is a W***e on this split-screen, it's you." Some folks always have to think about gumming it for no reason at all.

kimi your point taken as well. I won't stop watching him, but...he has got a little redemption to get going on; on the gun subject. Heh, I don't believe he (nor anyone) should be expected to be the "know all/end all" on all subjects...just shows the "gun ignorance" that is so pervaisive in all the media...[;)]

Thanks, COLT. I don't care for many of his remarks on this subject, myself, but the man deserves lots of credit, and for the reasons noted.
