Another truck question ???

O.K. , our gunsmith apprentice has a ford f150 (1983) with a 302 ,it was completely redone and converted fro fuelinj. to carb.? will start and run for 3-5 min. then dies out as if out of gas ???
Any suggestions , Ideas ???

  Sounds like a fuel filter/pump issue. Assuming timing is ok. Does it run well when it does run?
  
  Not sure where the filters are, sometimes they are on top of the tank. As are some fuel pumps.

  Also a fuel injected motor uses a high pressure fuel pump and a carburator uses alot lower pressure.
  
  To high of fuel pressure could cause sensors to go crazy and shut down.
