Had the same problem a few years ago. I went over and dumped the neighbors trash out in his yard. Not very mature but didn't have more problems.

Yeah, these days people care more about their dogs than they do people so be careful.

It's not against the law to set a trap then call the pound to haul the hound off.

I had one that was doing that one time and I trapped him and then told my neighbor that their dog was making a mess at my house all the time. She said with a very smart attitude that her dog never leaves the yard. I said that's good to know then so I don't have to worry about the dog I caught in my trap belonging to you and I hauled his rear end to the pound myself right then.

Never had that problem any more.

I also used to work with a guy that had a problem with the neighbors dog digging up his plants and scrubs and getting into everything. He practically begged his neighbor to keep his dog at home. Finally he had all he could take he went over the top, he completely lost it. He took his shotgun and killed the dog and then went to the neighbors house and screamed at the people inside as he throw the dog against their front door saying now you'll be able to keep the SOB at home!! Those people were so afraid of him after seeing how he went crazy that they didn't call the cops for fear it would be them next.

I think I would get as much video of the dog into the trash and then let the authorities handle the situation. Its not worth flipping out and getting arrested or sued over a dog. Play it cool![:0]

Caution is paramount. Don't loose your cool. If you're going to do the dog in, be sneaky. The DNR around here unoffically support the 3 S's. Shoot, shovel, and shut up!

Small town SD don't have police or animal control, the city council gets to handle it.
The neighbor is on the city council and so am I. The town has a kennel we put up for a pound. I would lock the damn dog up if I could catch it. He can't even catch it without running it down with his four wheeler.

I went over and beat on the door. His wife is home but won't answer the door. I am pretty sure she saw me in their front yard hollering at the worthless mutt.

Why don't you just get in some quality air-gun practice???

Or, if it's a light colored dog, paintball practice [:D] All the paintballs are vegetable dies anyway...stain like crazy, but non-toxic. I bet they always wanted a polka-dot mutt!

Beat the owner, it's not the dog's fault. Those numbnut neighbors probably don't feed the dog.

They feed it. It is just an undisciplined mutt-kind of like the owner. They both need some reinforcement to know the difference between right and wrong.

Don't blame the dog, it's what they do. Blame the neighbor for not keeping the dog contained.

Hide out in the garage with a pellet gun or paintball gun. Not too powerfull a pellet gun, one of those pump ones. just use a couple of pumps so you don't break the skin and aim for the rump. After being stung a couple of times he won't go near your trash.

Everything you guys are directing towards the dog should instead be done to the owner![}:)]

leave it a few small meatballs loaded with ex-lax, they will get rid of it very quickly
[crush the pills, roll into balls, cook very gently], works everytime

I agree. The dog is merely being a dog. The owner needs to be punished.

If the dog is causing real damage (aside from spreading around garbage), I would be inclined to remedy the problem. Right now, the dog is just being a PITA. I can't see hurting the dog for rummaging through your trash.

I'd talk with the assclown that is your neighbor. If that doesn't work, or you've already tried it, I'd call the LEOs and ask them to explain to your neighbor to keep his dog off your property.

Sprinkle some cayenne pepper or tear gas powder on the trash and no dog will mess with it.

Some may remeber last week i posted about my neighbors dog getting into my chicken coop, eating my garbage and some other things. I Talked to the owner a second time and have not seen the dog yet but just in case i bought some snake shot for my .22. If this fails it's the 3 S's.

Neighbors dog tore up my garbage this morning. I picked it all up and the damn thing just tore it up again. I am tempted to do something I will regret.

    (*@#&@&^@^@#($#)$*(@&^#*#( dog and #*@#&@*#($#&@^!@%#&!(@)#$ neighbor

    A. Get a paintball gun, tne next time the dog even comes into your yard make him look like one of those take home color samples from the paint store
    B. Everytime the dog gets into something, regardless of how big or small a mess he makes, leave your neighbor a mailbox full of dog$hiite the following night
SOONER or later they'll get the message[}:)]

Pour Ammonia on it and animals will leave it alone.

Go over and TALK to your neighbor and ask him to keep the dog under control. Most folks are reasonable. Those that choose to be unreasonable get garbage dumped all over the yard on a very regular basis.

Depends on your state, but they have leash laws. Shoot it with a pellet gun, and the owner can't say a thing about it. Already done that down here in LA. don't have any more dog problems[;)]

With the large Calif. cities being governed as they are by left wing liberals, I would wager money that it is illegal to shoot a pellet gun outside in LA and probably even illegal to own one. I say this having no actual knowledge of LA laws, but just my knowledge of liberals and their thinnking.
