Wish me luck... update

Please, we are leaving tomorrow for our cow elk hunt north of Flagstaff. Scouting hasn't given us a good spot for opening day, so it will be a crapshoot, still nine days in the woods is always good.[:)]


Well, we're back. I got the only one we had a shot at on day four, my wife saw one the last morning through thick cover but couldn't get a good shot. The weather was warm for the most part, only a couple of days below freezing in the mornings, but it was Very dry. Most of the tanks didn't have water, and even though we were first there and parked on the roads going to them, we had other hunters walking in on us several times. I guess you've just got to accept that on public land.
Still, after a six yr. drought it is great to have some wild game in the freezer!! Not including last yrs. javilina.

    finally after searching for nearly a year, u.c. running out back in Oct. finally got a solid offer of work, just a bit further from home than i would have liked.
    have to go through the b.s. drug/background checks and then wait for a start date.
    first time in MANY years working inside a plant, think the last time was around 1979 or so, hope i can adjust

    just got the e-mail from corporate, wanted to know when I wanted to start?
    told them tomorrow or as soon as suits.

    Good Luck......[:)][:)] A buddy of mine is going up north of Flag also. I was checking the weather for him there. Going to be pretty warm for good elk hunting, it seems. [:(] Maybe it will turn before your nine days are up......

    We chose the early cow hunt so we wouldn't freeze our nuts off. We hunt out of a tent. They are there, but well scattered and in the timber. Trying to find their hidyholes will be the challenge, but thats why they call it hunting.[8D]
