Quick somebody loan me $1200
Not. But anyone have ideas on how to get back with a slimeball auto dealer. The Ford Explorer I bought used last month needs a new transmission. The dealer said it is used tough luck. It had a 30 day/1000 mile warranty and I drove it 1700 miles/36 days. They now say they will cover $1000 and I have to cover the other $1000.

1000 mile 30 day waranty, you drove it 1700, and had it 36 days.
CAVIAT EXEMPTOR, at least they'll split the cost, I know that sucks..[V]0 -
splitting the cost is a scam, they typically charge double labor even if just full labor their not loosing anything, and more than list price on parts, depending on the year around here they start at 750 bucks, removed/rebuilt/installed 1 year warranty 0 -
Hey, they are giving you more than what you agreed to accept...
That being said, did you have an independant mechanic do a PPI or anything? How many miles were on the vehicle to begin with? Was it close to a known-common and "planned" replacement mileage wise?0
