When you are doing nothing at all with the computer but you see the processor and hard drive are getting a workout, how can you find out what is running and who is running it?

    When I try to back out of this box I am sent directly to the Winfixer website. This happens all the time I have tried to get rid of it with anti-virus and anti-spyware to no avail. Is this Winfixer something I should try or stay away from. I don't trust it at all. Any suggestions or warning are appreciated.

    I use Microsoft Office 2007 (Microsoft Word and Excel). When I installed Office 2007 I was using Microsoft Works 2000 (Word Processor and Spreadsheet). I didn't know if there would be a conflict between them so I cleaned out Microsoft Works before I installed Microsoft Office.

    Now I have the same problem in reverse. I have some archived files that Office 2007 can't open because they are written in Works 2000.

    If I install Works 2000 with Office 2007 installed will my computer explode or what?

    How do I shrink my screen back down. I have to scroll sideways to see the whole picture. Kids were messing with the computer.

    i have dial up at home [V] and just got dsl at work [:D] but my labtop wont seem to connect with the dsl its keeps looking for the dial up how do i convert it? thanks in advance

    What is a good, small, program for seeing what IP addresses your computer is attempting to touch at any given time?

    The reason for asking is after being on-line for a while my service gets R E A L L Y S L O W, but if I shut down and restart it seems normal (slow) again. I've checked for viruses, but can't find any. I'd like to see if some of my bandwidth is getting hijacked somehow into doing double duty.

    computer question.


    I have windows 7 pro and was wondering if you can repair a windows installition without loseing all of your data? Is it possible or do I have no choice but loseing all my data?

    Some pictures ar blocked by my computer. Is it the Outlook Express or the Norton doing the blocking???

    Most pictures come through but if someone forewards an email with pictures it says that they were blocked to keep someone from identifying my computer.

    How do I turn this off so I can get the pictures???

    Im far from being computer oriented,so maybe you can help me.When Im on line I get Microsoft updates to install in my PC.They offer an up date about once a week,I usually accept and install them.But I never can tell any difference after the updates are installed.Should I accept the updates or just ignore them? Thanks in advance.

    You can, but it's not reccomended, nor can you hook them together in series. In order to achieve optimum performance from vid cards hooked together in series, you have to pretty much have the same cards.

    You can use 2 different ones if you don't connect them to each other, and then you can still run two monitors.

    The way my computer is set up is with 2 256mb vid cards hooked together in series, so they compliment each other, giving me 512mb performance for less money, and better overall video processing ability because each card has to work half as hard as it would if it were by itself.

    You have to have a newer motherboard with two PCI express ports. You then buy matched pairs of cards, you can buy matched if you want or two separate cards that are the same. You then put them in, boot it up, load drivers, and away you go with one or two or 4 screens. With one screen you have to have a splitter hook up, they usually come with the cards.

    don't have anything like that. old motherboard, 1 AGP slot and PCI slots.

    You can buy an array card for your syste that will run from your AGP slot, or even PCI. Do a Google search for 'Quad video card'. I use an old Colorgraphic quad card at work and currently use 4 19" FPD's ( falt panel monitors)for my work programs. I believe that ATI now is making new generation Colorgraphic cards. The quad cards will usually have a 4 headed monitor cable jack that will plug into teh card. It usually looks like a small SCSI card.This is similar to mine4l8jgio.jpg

    No problem doing it. Just remember that you need PCI, PCI-X, etc. because you probably only have one AGP slot. I was doing this 5 years ago with one AGP card and one PCI card..

    Also, there are some video cards out there (Matrox and NVidia make 'em) that have support for dual monitors on *one* card....
