Gun Show (yesterday)

Getting worse every time they have one. People with non gun related booths such as the NAZI uniform and patch guys. We got a now one now, guy takes up 12 stalls to set up his BOOK library with all of Three gun related books in his inventory, and of course the Jewelry dealer with the Mexican silver and shiney beads.

Did find one little gun and brought it home an "ASTRA CUB" in .22 short only. Didnt have one so I thought I would get it.[:)]

    Jeez, no Bavarian nut seller, no sunglasses, no beanie babies? Hardly sounds like it was worth going without those.

    I think the guy with the Mexican jewelry had a couple boxes of sun glasses, and one table had a couple cases of Tex Mex trail mix..[:0]

    I seems they cant abide by the contract they sign nor does the promoters inforce it. It states in the rules that each vendor must have at least 60 percent gun related items..Except for the knife vendors as it is a GUN and KNIFE show..[:(]

    Classic, come on up to Tulsa and hang out with us in April. Wannamaker limits the non-gun tables to about 5% of the total show, and that includes some decent book guys. We will get you some good Thai food too.

    Going to a show here in Wyoming this Sat. The shows here are about 90% guns and parts and the rest books, shirtsetc and accessories. The problem is the money they want for them. Oh well, eye candy is always fun to.

    I think that I'm done with gun shows in Fort Wayne. I want to try the Indy 1500 show sometime.

    Smokeeater, I was wondering about the one at the fair grounds in Ft. Wayne Sunday and almost decided to go. The poor quality of the last few at the Coliseum and the cold weather made me decide it just wasn't worth a thirty mile drive just to pay for the opportunity to be disappointed.

    I'm going to try the Indy show next time if I don't have a schedule conflict.

    As one person put it, gun shows are no longer gun shows but merely gun shops that move their shops for the weekend.[:(]

    Your are completely right all the gun shows are going down hill it seams, but sounded like you where at the same gun show I was at this past weekend.

    I went trying to find a good price on ammo.. Is there a such thing any more? Seams like most off the venders had way to high of prices on all ammo.. What happened to the good days when Wal-Mart wasn't one of the cheaper ammo sellers??(Example 9mm Lugar 115 grains 1000 rnds $105.00 after tax Wal-Mart. Gun show $12.99 per 100 rnds for the cheap stuff 129.9(10 boxes) befor taxes.)

    At lest I did find some thing to plink with at the show, picked me up an Intratec AB-10, 9MM. was the only nice deal I found for one. Every one wanted 300-350$ for a used on with 1 32rnd mag. I paid 355$ for a slightly used one with 2 32rnd mags, and 2 10rnd mags =). It shall bring me grate planking days, side by side with my PLR-16.

    I've never been to the one at the fair grounds before. I have been to the ones at the Coliseum on and off for the past 20 years and don't care to go back.

    That's about the same amount of time I've been attending them also. I will probably go back with the boys on occasion, but there's just not enough there anymore to be worth any form of regular attendance. Too bad, it used to be enjoyable and useful.

    Remember when they were bringing truck loads of SKS and AK47 rifles to Fort Wayne and selling them for a song? I didn't bother to go to the last Fort Wayne show. Seems the dealers are married to their guns and the guns have big boobs!

    I don't like jerky enough to drive a distance, and then spend money to look at it.

    I haven't been to the SAXET show in Austin for over a year now.

    Really haven't had the spare cash to spend anyway[:(],and I figured if I give it enough time,maybe I'd get to see somethin' different for a change.

    Best thing about it is that it's in the same building as a Mexican flea market of sorts and we usually spend more time out in the parkin' lot watchin' the senoritas come and go.

    Here in Kansas City, its the same. Had the Nazis bunch but the promoter was prevailed upon not to allow them in again. The local newspaper, the Kansas City Star (which we call the "scar" or the Red Star) fortunately didn't get wind of these guys...and gals. They have been replaced by huge displays of alien abduction and kook conspiracy theory books...none on guns.

    Yep, I remember, and I sang that tune a couple of times for the boys, but the band left town I believe. I bought three Enfields at a pretty good price last fall, but that's the only items I've seen in nearly two years I was at all interested in. There has not been any reloading equipment or supplies available to speak about for some time now, and a weak selection of guns.
