Gas Prices
Yes its really horrible that gas prices are so darn high, But good things are to come. In my opinion american auto makers have been rather laid back and care free to do as they wish. It is about time the government made things a little tighter. You know it may be for the better anyways. If more people start walking or biking the obesity rates just might decline.

So the talk of ammo going up while the cost of brass and other metals have been dropping got me thinking.
Gas is going back up (over a 30 cent increase here in less than 4 weeks) while it appears oil is falling or staying relatively steady at around $36 a barrel and there is a reported surplus.
Any thoughts on why and how mush has it risen in your neck of the woods?0 -

Why the price drop-off? My guess is market manipulation to achieve political ends.
Allies of the current U.S. President will sell their very large positions in the oil futures market and pump prices will ultimately descend as a result.
Voters "on-the-fence" will feel better with gas in the 2 dollar range and think: hey, current administration must be doing something right. They may then proceed to vote the current administration in for another term.
Anyway, the news worth hearing is pump prices will, imho, be substantially lower -- at least for a little while.

Was out and about Saturday gas was $3.45 Monday it shoots up to $3.65 today it's at $3.54 WTH. 0 -
I am curious as to what gas prices are at right now in other parts of the country. In Michigan here its about $3.60 a gallon for 87 octane. 0 -
anybody else notice the gas prices went down after Dick Cheney shot that guy ?( i know it was accidental ) this might have only happened in Texas but still the prices went down . anyone else have an idea who Cheney could shoot this time ? 0 -
GASOLINE has gone up $.50 a gallon in the last 2 days . The front page of todays paper state STATES LOOK FOR GOUGERS How far and hard do they have to look[V][:(!]Every station but one I checked 10 of them went up within 2 Hours of each other. I don't think they all got a shipment of gas in this time frame. One guy did not go up until his new shipment came in today I asked him about it and he stated HE NEVER raised prices until his price went up said his shipment was projected to be in about 2 weeks out but when every one but him went up he had a run on his station and sold out quicker then expected . His station was sold out for over 5 hours but he did not change price on original supply I will buy gas from him from now on. 0 -
Right now, Obama, his supporters, and re-election staff in the liberal media are in full spin/defense mode over high gas prices.
As with everything else that has occured since taking office, the bad news is someone else's fault.

The news comes the same day benchmark crude lost $1.95 to $89.90 in New York trading. Oil has plunged 15 percent in May as investors predict that the European economy will continue to slow.

Needs an education of basic supply and demand with commodities.
Supply remains same, demand remains same, price remains same, period. Commodities are traded so openly worldwide that name brand doesn't matter. Only two ways to reduce worldwide price:
1. Increase worldwide supply.
2. Decrease worldwide demand. (not happening soon with India and China)

You want to hurt the companies, just buy gas. Do not buy anything else from them. Get those smokes and you give them extra money, get that soda and you give them 75% profit. Most of the items in a gas station are marked up 25% - 50% for profit. I know I used to manage one. The gas is not a big money make for the individual company owned gas station. The companies push for those profits INSIDE the store. Knock them out there. 0 -

yeah, great idea... then the markup on gas will go up to compensate for the lost revenue...
