Time For Yearly Computer Throw Away
The government gets alot of people into trouble by searching their computer. Why let that happen ? Since 1998 I buy a new computer every year and destroy my old one. Private companies now permanently keep on record EVERYTHING you do online. There is nothing good that can come from that. The government will use ANYTHING and EVERYTHING found on your computer to smear, defame, or imprison you. Dont take any chances. Make things harder to prove and destroy evidence by detroying your computer.

yes your IP stays the same but without a computer hard drive its really hard to prove anything. you basically just have one persons word with no corraborating evidence.
yes i have money, yes i am a "little" paranoid and yes sometimes i do things online that others might consider bad.
the way i see it though, why take any chances ?
in the future there will be SCARY things happening with what you did online. right now the internet is still pretty anynomous but thats changing. people, companies and the goverment works every day to think of ways to steal your info and break into your computer.0 -

Unfortunately your logic is a little flawed. If you say something on the internet, like here for example, that could get you in trouble is stored on the forums server, not on your hard-drive. If you say something that they want to use against you, they will trace it via your IP address which will remain the same no matter what computer you use. Therefore changing your computer will not help you.
Plus, you will just have to go back and re-download all your porn![;)]0 -

your ip address doesn't necessarily stay the same all the time, how ever it is always recorded by your isp, d/d/t stamped, btw if they have a reason to come in and take your computer you have far more important issues than information on your computer

People that have been reported by people they know or people over the internet. If nobody's reporting you, the government doesn't have any reason to waste time dragging people's computers out on a whim. Do you have any idea how much garbage is downloaded on a given day in this world??

If you have a decent used laptop, I'll take it. I'll buy it for a good deal. I only want one to hook up to my salt water aquarium equipment. That's all it would be used for until it dies. When it does, I'll destroy it if you want.

Why would the government want to smear, defame or imprison me? What do they have to gain from it? Prisoners are expensive. The government has no money. The prisons are already crowded to the point where most multi-offender DUI drivers and druggies have to be let back on the streets. I think you're over-estimating their will and/or drive and man power. To be honest, if you're that paranoid, I don't know why you'd make a post like this. If somebody's monitoring you, why wouldn't they just wait 4 months after this post and knock down your door?
It just sounds a little extreme but hey, it's a free country. You're bolstering the economy. So be it.0
