Man shoots own hand while opening gate

A man told police that he shot his hand by accident while opening a gate at 104 NW 136th Place. He was rushed to the hospital by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units from Station no. 58. Police are investigating.Talk about your household accidents -- this one's a doozy.[:0]

A West Miami-Dade man shot himself in the hand with a pistol Thursday while opening a gate.

Miami-Dade police and fire rescue were summoned to 104 NW 136th Pl. after the shooting was reported.

It was not just any gate, but a large, heavy-metal, ornamental one that is part of a fence circumnavigating the yard.

The shooting was reported around 2:20 p.m. Fire-rescue personnel bandaged the hand, the victim's left. Then he walked over to a waiting gurney and was wheeled into a fire-rescue unit.

It was classified as an accidental shooting.

    to add to this. where i live i dont lock my doors, ever. no one comes up the driveway. thats what a 1/4 mile of gravel hill does. walked it every damn day too off the school bus[^] the world is going to hell in a handbasket and A-holes are weaving it.
