I do not believe they have changed one bit. The cans all look alike. I found old pull tops and bottles and the pop tabs the design has not changed. Good old Granny sure did like the stuff.

  I happen to have an empty PBR sitting right here on my desk. It is from when they first came out with pop tops, the kind that you pulled off of the can.
  I found it in the attic when my parents moved 8 years ago. The can must be 35 plus years old.
  Ah, we thought that stuff was liquid gold my senior year in high school.

  Interesting how regional such tastes can be, or at least could some years ago when a lot more beers were regional in distribution. We would never have touched Pabst, but I grew up in Bud country, so we that that was the standard with Coors the coveted Colorado beer (and today I don't drink either[xx(]). Wish I could still get Oly, Pearl, Lone Star...

  Growing up, our county seat hosted mostly cowboy wanna be, and all they drank down there was PBR, After Coors Light was brought into the area they changed, but the small town I grew up around were all Budweiser drinkers and still are today. There's 25 miles between each.

  ....Around 1975, they came out with PBR in 7 or 8 oz. cans, in 8 packs, still with the pull off tabs. Those and the 7 oz. Miller "hand grenade" bottles have a lot to do with those billion or so AWOL brain cells.

  I think PBR was the only beer where if that's all there was to drink, I'd say "eh fork it" and not drink.

  Have a friend that retired from the can division of Reynolds Metals. First canned beer- 1935- Kreuger. Poptop invented in 1959, sold first in 1962. Stay-on pop top invented by Reynolds, 1975. Aluminum cans changed almost continually, using less metal. You shoud see HIS can collection! And he does not drink beer!
