I have seen those and never understood them either. There is no rifling in the barrel...the bullet does not fit tightly in the barrel...I just dont see how it works well to hit anything beyond about 20 yards.

It's been done for years, I've seen them around but never owned one. I have and do own a shotgun with tube sets for other gauges of shotguns. This sort of thing would be great for a rifle like a Savage model 24 chambered in maybe 12gauge and .223. If you had a couple tube inserts you could have one camping rifle that could then be four very useful (although singleshot) calibers.

Don't know about the adapter but you damn well better watch out for the guy selling them. If you are thinking about ordering one send me an email.

these have more criminal uses than logical ones. take a 12ga flare pistol and an appropriatley sized adapter. you can now fire a gun(albeit only once) with no stryations to identify it. and the cherry on top, you dont need a license for any of it, except maybe the ammo depending on state.

With high pressure cartridges a large diameter shotgun firing pin may blow back into the frame.
In a flare gun, I would expect the latch to break and give you the adaptor in the face.

Unless you have one of those steel czech 26.5mm flare guns....barrel is steel.

I got a 26.5mm to 12 guage adapter and run a 12 guage to 45acp adapter inside the other adapter.

Don't know why I got it.....Oh yeah...it's mounted underneath my AK barrel.

Can shoot 12 guage flares, birdbombs, and 26.5mm flares as well.

Funny, as they were originally designed for use in a flare pistol as a last ditch (and up close) weapon. Somewhere along the line, somebody suggested they were for use in a shotgun.

and adds the ability to shoot a "distress" or "targeting" tracer out the short barrel 12 ga pistol. It would make a nice 3" semi auto slug thrower.

I know an older guy who swears he shoots 44 special out of a 410 all the time,I have never tried it but I can not see why it would not work

By the way- the SAAMI specs for 410 shotgun ammo is about 12,500 PSI. The spec for 44 Special is 15,500 PSI, and 44 magnum is 35,000 PSI. "So ya gotta ask yourself- do you feel lucky?"
