If you NEED a "pre-nup" dont think about marriage. You just aint ready or you are already in big doubt.

Nice sentiment Joe, but it's different today than it was 57 years ago when you got hitched. And that is a shame...

I would never ask my extremely wealthy fiance' to sign a pre-nup. It says I don't trust her. It also might leave me penniless should she meet with an unfortunate "accident". [:D]

Oh, wait. I don't have a wealthy fiance'. Never mind. [:(]

Here's my thought. The only time the prenup has any effect is if you get divorced. So if you don't plan on getting divorced, it has no meaning. And me asking you to sign one isn't a sign of me not trusting you. It's a final test on whether I should. If you refuse to sign a document that has no meaning except for in a divorce, in which case it protects me from your greed, how much does that say about your trustworthiness in the marriage?

Wallie- who gets custody of the cannon? FWIW, a LOT of OLDER folks are doing prenups. when they remarry. maybe she comes to the marriage with a house from her first marriage That she wants to go to daughter) , he comes with a 401K and a retirement plan (that he wants to go to grandson)- and they agree on division of assets- divorce OR death
