Traffic Cop Question
I was riding my bike this morning about 2:15 am on a 4 lane road with turning lane in the middle.
I was going 54 in a 40 and I had the bike layed over and was just exiting a pretty sharp S curve and there was a stater in the oncoming lane.
He immediatly slowed to a stop as he saw me coming so I slowed down to 40 and cruised by him thinking he was going to pull a uturn and pull me over. He never did anything but drive straight ahead at about 5 MPH with his brakes on After I was about 1/4 mile up the road and he was still acting like that I guessed he didn't really want to pull me over.

If you slowed down. He did his job and you got the message. [8D]

he was on his way to 7-eleven for coffee 0 -
he probably thought you were going to dump, so he got ready to shovel you off the road.
54 in a 40. give bikes a good rap. obey laws next time.[B)]0 -
Sorry Bobski.
Once in a while my righteousness slips down and I find myself mearly a human. I didn't mean to tarnish the bike owners of the world, just enjoying my morning ride... maybe a little to much.
Atleast there is no one on the road at that time to see my fall.0 -
He knew you were speeding, but had no way to tell how fast you were going. He slowed down to let you know he saw you, but without measuring your speed with radar, vascar, following, etc., he had no evidence of what speed you were going.
Twisties are fun on a cycle, but pretty scary at night, with a motorcycle headlight. 54 in the daytime is probably no big deal, but would likely be quite fast at night.0 -
MVP, he made sure you were able to tell us what happened by slowing down and letting you know he was there. Stay Safe.

He may have also pulled out to get a start on a speeding violator coming his way. 0 -
Maybe it had nothing to do with you at all. 0 -
[}:)][}:)] 2:15 am. When do the bars close? [:D][:D] Go down the same road at the same speed at the same time tomorrow morning and it is a 50-50 chance he will be parked and ready to introduce himself to you. 0 -

I thought that too but I was the only guy on the road for a mile.
The only thing illegal about my bike is my license plate light is burnt out.0 -
[8D]---Riding a bycycle at 2:15 AM--Hmmm
Taillite burned out--Hmmm
Going 54 mph in a 40 mph zone--Hmmm
AND YOU HAVE A QUESTION ?????
I've heard of sleep walking, but this is ridiculous--

PA and VA State Police will do that too. I have gone past them sitting along the road at night, without me seeing them and me doing a bit over the speed limit and they will just light their overheads up to let me know they see me and to tell me to slow down. 0 -

Or he may have been on his way home and deciding if he wanted to turn around and see what happened or go home and get some rest.
Problem is, when you turn around and start to make the stop, you have to be prepared to see it through-even if it means a chase (likely with a bike at night), that could even end up in a crash or dead biker or maybe a drunk puking in your vehicle, or an idiot that just robbed a 7-11 or maybe just a guy getting a little carried away on his way home, too. All of these except the last usually end up with a mountain of paperwork and if it is the last, you'd probably end up just giving him a warning anyway because you could see yourself doing the same thing on certain days.
Probably decided to show you his taillights and get you to slow down and go home himself and get some rest. Been there and done that-many, many times myself.0 -
Wanted to see how you would react. You would be surprised at number of perps that wll panic and run when they see blue lights. 0
