Looks Like Illinois Ban is Dead!
The state's legislatures is in a overtime session for the last month and a half. The cannot agree on a budget. Gov Blago wants to spend a butt load and tax the heck out of us. This week he ordered the house into session to force them to work together to make a deal on a budget.
They get to Springfield and the Gov proceeds to berate them for not passing his gun control bill. The state congressmen are pissed for the Gov wasting their time. Looks like he lost a couple of votes for this stunt.
On a related item, the Bloomington Pantagraph is also reporting Gov. Blago charged the state $600 for his makeup artist bill. Yeah John Edwards pays $600 for a hair cut. Rod Blagovich pays $600 for freaking makeup!
He said he was sorry.

Don't ever let them forget that Cook County doesn't run the state, as much as they would like to think so. I sometimes wish I was back in Glenview, just to be able to make a difference in my home town. But Texas is too great of a place, so I'll have to leave Illinois in your hands and the others I left behind. Good luck, we're all counting on you!

Looks like or is? I can only hope it's dead. Are we talking about his proposed AWB or the high capacity magazine ban? I believe it is law that the state needs a budget in place by June 1st and here we are in the middle of July and we're once again cruising along on a (another) temporary budget under the Blagojevic administration.
Same thing happened in 04 but this one looks like it's gonna go longer. It'd be nice to watch them actually do their job and pass a budget, but then I see Blago on the news screaming at them about how they should pass his high cap magazine ban. That's the priority right now!?!??? [V][V]
It's sad. Really sad. In the private sector, they'd all be fired by now. In government, you get to be rewarded with paychecks for pushing personal agendas and putting your actual job to the side for a while.
Illinois voters (and non-voters) earned this.0 -

Big Jim is a lawyer for a Chicago firm. His name pops up occasionally such as during the case against the former CEO of the Chicago Sun Times.0 -
Just a reprieve....the fall session will be more focused and it will come up again.....Jesse Jackson has been picketing gun shops in the Chicago area, Daley has been on the TV with a gun buy back program and Blago in spite of the current financial situation, brought up his gun control agenda and said little about the budget.
Expect a full court press in the fall. Time to start the calling and letter writing again now.0 -
what ever give you the ideal it is dead, it is up again for reading july 31st

Things are off the rocks for a while. Bago is a dirt bag he only cares about his political agenda and raising taxes he wont but he will cut the poop out of state jobs including the DNR's budget and jobs we dont have enough of those guys as it stands. 0 -

their chipping away one state at a time, more will follow suit eventually, "whats good for California must be good for Illinois", then there will be "whats good for California, and Illinois" must be good for .............0 -
The Communist Utility Board (CUB) is proud to announce that Illinois legislature has passed a law that says if the cable company is more than 4 hours late for an appointment they have to knock off $25.
I thought what the heck? We don't need or want a law that dictates what a private business must do for customer service. While it is a nice gesture for the company, we don't need the government telling privatly owner business what they need to do for customer service. To me this is like the gubernment telling LF what to do with an unsatisfied customer who finds a scratch.0 -

Yeah, Daley had their little 'no questions asked' gun buy back yesterday. You just had to call 311 to find the a location to drop them off. Each gun turned in got you a whopping '100 dollar gift card'. Hmmm. I wonder who got the better end of the deal. Citizens or the government?? Not likely the real criminals turned in their expensive firearms from the black market for 100.00. Not likely most citizens would turn in a 400 dollar gun for 100. I'd bet what was turned in was laughable, once again.
And yeah, 'in spite of the laughable financial situation', Blago is wasting time trying to ban high cap mags. LOL! Well, everybody, your state government is poised to shut down at midnight, August 1st. But Blago will be fighting late into the night to ban high cap clips, trying to keep you, "safe"! LOL
We must be the laughing stock of the country. It's embarrassing. Democrat governor. Democrat house speaker. Democrat controlled house and senate, equals total grid lock and chaos. HS Madigan ISN"T EVEN ON SPEAKING TERMS with the governor, apparently, from what I've read. In true highschool fashion, he passes notes to Blagos friends, which in turn get passed on to the governor.
And lately, instead of debating the budget, they had a preliminary vote on making the governor stay in Springfield for the debate, instead of flying back to Chicago, daily (like he has since mid May costing tax payers 5,800 dollars per day for a total of 84,000 dollars). His spokesperson says, "There are currently more important issues facing Illinois right now." Like high cap mags?? LOL! What a JOKE!!!0 -
Damn flatlanders![:D]Guess I cant rag on them too much,Wisconsin isnt too far behind them as far as gun laws are concerned. What the hells the matter with the voters in this state[:(!]I know,Its a few big liberal run cities that make the majority of the states decisions because half the people living in the rural areas won't get off their asses and vote. 0
