My wife's back seat driver's license expired.

    Natural causes.

My wife and I have a pact that neither of us will talk about, or complain about the others driving. We used to get in fights while driving to the point of having to pull over. Now we just try and get to the passenger door first so the other has to drive.

We were on our way out of St. Louis, in 3 or 4 lanes of traffic when the truck with the dual wheeled horse trailer decided it was time to come over to my lane. This was during rush hour and there was no where for me to go. I'm hitting my brakes trying to get through the traffic to get out of my lane and there is no room. He starts coming over and I hit the brakes, hit my turn singal and start to try to get over. I have the seat of the car sucked up in my body it is that close. My wife says "Why didn't you just let them over." I said " you have 3 choices, you can sit there and shut the He77 up, I can stop and you can drive in this mess, or I can pull over and you can ride in the trunk and say all you want.

Renee HATES how I drive. She'll never get on the Suzuki with me.

My wife never says anything even if I ask her to watch out for our exit. She just gasps and screams when she thinks some idiot is going to wreck us.

My parents, God rest their long departed souls, liked to tell the story of how early on in their relationship c. 1930, they were riding together in a Model T and she (who never drove a car in her life)was telling him to watch out for this, that, etc as they were speeding along at about 20 mph. Dad, a quiet gentle man, pulled the steering wheel off and handed it to her without saying a word. They had a long and successful marriage.

I have threatened to tie mine up in the back seat. Admittedly I have been in some accidents and admit to being only a fair driver. She never has (and rubs it in my face) but only because the driving gods are shining on her. I "almost have an accident" while she is "driving defensively". I'm sure many of you know how I feel. My knuckles get white every time I ride with her and being blessed to this point if she ever does get in an accident I'm convinced it will most likely be "the big one". The worst part is the distraction she causes when I am trying to avoid an accident. She likes to grab for the wheel causing more problems than I started with. One of there days she is inadvertantly gonna get an elbow in the face and maybe she will quit.

Boy, am I lucky after hearing some of those stories. When the wife and I go someplace together, we barely talk. We just listen to the radio and go.[:D]

Dr. Dobson says women have an exaggerated sence of space and distance. They panic when you come upon a slower moving vehicle. I think he is right. It's a mental handicap that MOST have. Oh sorry, disability.
