Anyone else collect pinfire, or odd cartridges?
I've collected single pistol and rifle cartridges for most of my life. It started when I was about 10 years old with an '03 cartridge that my father had in his medals box. He had brought it back from Korea. The next thing I knew, I was going to the gun ranges with my father and searching for "dropped" cartridges during the cease fires. Well, after many years of collecting I became bored with "modern" (1900 forward) cartridges, I had examples of just about every known caliber. About twenty five years ago I decided to look for pre-1900 cartridges and boy, it's a lot tougher! How many of you collect cartridges? How about pinfire, needlefire, teatfire, Burnside, Spencer, or Billinghurst cartridges?[:p]

Yeah- Trounds, Gyrojets, Allen lipfires, cupfires, ONE Crispin, etc. Good book IF you can find it- US Cartridges and Their Handguns by Charles R. Suydam. Check amazon- it is out of print. 0
