W e are in trouble...
The population of this country is 300 million.
160 million are retired.
That leaves 140 million to do the work.
There are 85 million in school.
Which leaves 55 million to do the work.
Of this there are 35 million employed by the federal government.
Leaving 20 million to do the work.
2.8 million are in the armed forces preoccupied with killing Osama
Bin-Laden.
Which leaves 17.2 million to do the work.
Take from that total the 15.8 million people who work for state and city
Governments. And that leaves 1.4 million to do the work.
At any given time there are 188,000 people in hospitals.
Leaving 1,212,000 to do the work.
Now, there are 1,211,998 people in prisons.
That leaves just two people to do the work.
You and me.
And there you are,
Sitting on your ass,
At your computer, reading jokes..

So someone was a No call, No show at an account. They call me to see if I would come over after I got off work to cover for a couple hours. I was working armed and this is an unarmed. I get off, drive over to the second place. I get out of the car and the customer is standing there, he looks at my holster and goes, "What is that?" I unholster it, flip open the chamber and drop out the rounds then reply "It's a Colt 38 Police revolver, wanna see?"
He took it and actually enjoyed looking at it, might be a new gun owner soon. he also understood going from the armed to unarmed bit since I locked the gun in the trunck of the car in a gun case after that.0 -

Well tomorrow I go back into the working world. After 4 weeks off tomorrow
I start looking for a new job. Not sure if I want to get back to the trade that I have been in for the past 17 years.
Or if I should look for something else. I may go over to Home Depot and put in an application there.
Would only have to drive 5 miles to work instead of 50 miles oneway.
I do have an offer but they would have to make it worth my while to drive 35 miles oneway.
Nowhere in the U.S. Constitution does it state: "Seperation of Church and State".

Only working two days a week now. Was working three and a half. Weaning myself slowly. 0 -
After being off of work for ever or so it seemed ( Nov 08-Jun 10).
I came to a conclusion I need to work to live. Not just earn money but to live. This last week I was flat worn out but still had more energy at home after work than I did not working. I got more done in just a couple of hours after work than I did having the whole day with nothing to do.
Not only that I lost 10 lbs in my 1st full week back. Feel better too.0 -
If you want to work, First get a ladder,2 of them 1 folding 14 ft. and 1 extencion. Next print fliers " Will clean and tighten gutters .50 a foot." Take your own tape measure.

I don't what to go into work tonight!
Last night wasn't pretty, but we made our goal. I just don't feel like putting my head down, getting ugly, and do what it takes tonight. Just what an easy autopilot night. Haven't had one of those in the last two months.0 -
Well it seems I may soon again be employed. Been looking since Nov 08.
Monaco Coach Corp is starting back up. Went to a job fair today, after my Interview I was told I would make near top of the hire list. Helps that at one time before they closed up I worked for them. So already know the product and have worked at other RV manufactures after them.
Now I just have to sit here and wait for the word. This was just my Second interview in all this time. But have lost count at all the Resumes and Applications I've filled out.0 -

I did something to my right hand at work and now it hurts to work the throttle on the GS.
Can't complain too much though, in the past three nights, all I've done is 1 LOX service, 2 refuels, and a defuel and we're suppose to be short-maned. I try to do work, but whenever I get out of the truck, the shift supervisor makes me get back in..0 -
after doing all the "crap" work for a year, remove the old equipment, assist installing and set up of the new, refurbish some of the old to be re-used
last Mon i get the word that since everything is in and working well, they no longer desire to keep me on!?
so yester day had the first interviews for new work since Fri will be my last on this job...
first interview this a.m. went "O.K."
she thinks would do well in the slot, but wanted a coule minor changes in my resume before she forwarded it (just drop this line, move that one...)
then the second...
told them when they first contacted me had never used a mig
guess what first thing they wanted was? a welding test of course!
blew it with flying colors lmao
first time with a mig in my hands and doing vertical corner weld on what may have been 1/8 roll steel
"blew it" is an accurate description too, blew holes all through that damned plate!
about what I expected under the circumstances, but as I was leaving I hilarious disgrace, called the wife to see what was up and she said ANOTHER place called just minutes before
got home and returned the call, turns out its yet another of the h.r. places
after talking to him he wants me in first chance cause he thinks he has about 3 or 4 places that would suit, all at least $3 over what I have been making
keeping hopes up cautiously and see what happens0 -

UPDATE.
Last three weeks have been great! I wen tin to this backup foreman job knowing that everyone fails at it. Also, I was aware the the department supervisor was ready to blame me, the backup, if February was as bad as January.
In February our shift set a new production record for a shift at the plant. It's good to see a payoff for the hard work in the first half of the month. After being setup to be the scapegoat and I'm LMAO knowing our shift was the leader and the shift that consistently resolved the problems.
It's good to see the payoff once in a while.0
