No Provenance No sale
I emailed the seller to see if he had proof the gun belonged to Benny Goodman.
Here is his exact C&P off my email: no we don't. the gentleman who has the gun on consignment would like
$10,000
this was given to him by a personal friend of Benny Goodman

I doubt if anyone will come up with the price without some kind of valid documentation.[;)] 0 -
It always amazes me how someone will advertise and try to sell something with NO proof .. This gun was given to the seller from a friend of Benny Goodman. 0 -
while bashing of sellers isnt allowed, hopefully this wont qualify.
i live in that town(weymouth, ma) i have been to that shop many times. i know the owner. he often has quality merch and very rarely sells crap. if he says it belonged the somebody, it probably does. the only complait i have of that shop is price. his prices are often quite a bit higher than local average. by significant margin. i went in once looking for a .308, was leaning towards a savage. he had a nib savage, cant remember the model, the was 100 over what another dealer nearby had it for(his price was like 30-50 over cost). when i mentioned this, he bristlled and said somehting to the effect of "if you dont like the price, dont buy the gun. well, i took his advice.0 -
Well, it doesn't say the MUSICIAN Benny Goodman. Maybe that's the name of his dentist. [:D] 0 -

like the car in Seinfeld that George bought that belonged to John Voight?0 -
"This is made for a right handed shooter that is left eye dominant."
Seems this significant detail could have been better illustrated in a photograph that made plain the "bent" stock feature. IMHO0 -
But it WAS owned by Benny Goodman. He lives in my town too. There are several Ben Goodmans and Benjamins too, just look in the phone book. 0 -
Say, I have a revolver that belonged to Rudy Guiliani. We found it under the counter at the gas station. Has his initials on it- RG. Think I could sell that here?[:p] All kidding aside, unusual drilling, no matter who owned it. 0
