Work is killing me
I've smoked 3 packs of cigarettes in less than four days. Even when I was in college I wasn't that bad.

Sometimes it's the only way to get a break. It's messed up but if you don't have an excuse, like smoking, the shift expediters will work you to death. It's the only way to escape the flight line at times. 0 -
I get Navy planes coming in all the time...the crews ask where they can smoke as soon as they land....I just say at the edge of the grass away from the plane.....when I get questioned why the Navy is over there smoking......"They're Navy"......and all you'll ever hear is "oh".

I've heard that from several friends who were in the military at one point in their lives -- the whole, "Smoke 'em if you've got 'em" thing.
If'n it were me, I'd take my break anyway. If someone said something, I'd say, "They're on break, what's it matter if I'm not smoking?"
Of course, this is probably Reason #302 why I'd be a poor match for the military.0 -
One of my hardfast rules has always been to not tell anyone how
to lead their lives. Having seen some close friends - up close and
personal die from lung cancer makes that rule harder to follow.

People use that excuse all over the place. My wife hate it when here co workers are always walking out for extra smoke breaks. She's currently not smoking.
Grain elevators have the same problem. No smoking due to the grain dust and several mechanics take extra smoke breaks. SOme others would complain.0
