I have a C&R license and was wondering why some dealers are reluctant to send a gun to a FFL - C&R license Holder and require a FFL only.
Had a dealer who told me he got burnt by a C&R but wouldn't tell me how. Then he backed out of a offer he had taken on a gun, after a FFL and Checks were sent.
Of all the guns I have purchased on line I have returned one. The gun sent was not the gun advertised, even the wrong caliber. I have sold only three guns in the last 5 years and that was to upgrade guns I have in my collection
I would just like to know what kind of problems dealers have with C&R buyers.
A gun does not have to be 50 years old to be a C&R gun. There is a list of guns that the C&R license applies to in the C&R manual on line.0 -

For those of you who have them, or dealers who deal with those who have them, or for whomever wants to join in the discussion, is it worth getting a C&R license?
Do you have to keep everything you acquire using a C&R separate from what you already own?
I just wonder if it's more trouble than it's worth, that's all?

woo hoo the my c&r came today.. now i need to buy something.. i'm looking for a mil surpluse rifle i already have a m1 garand and 30 carbine, m44 mosin nagant, i'm thing about a 8mm.. what is a good 8mm for under 200.00 i really like the one my buddy has i think it's german and has a bent bolt already but i'm not shure what there called. 0 -
I am amazed at the number of GB sellers who will not accept a C&R license for an 80 or 90 year old luger or other C&R eligible gun. Don't they realize they are denying a lot of potential buyers?
I also wonder about the people who insist handguns be shipped FFL to FFL. That needlessly raises the shipping costs.0 -

I am a little confused about the C&R. What I understood from reading about applying for one, is that if a weapon is C&R qualified and you have a C&R License it can be shipped to you. I was talking to an FFL dealer and he said that is not the case, that still had to have dealer transfer done. Thoughts and opinions please... 0 -
I am just starting to think about getting a C&R license. Where would I get the paper work? How do I get started? I live in the Peoples Republic of New York State, have a concealed carry pistol permit(so I've been through the FBI background check once already), have never been it trouble or arrested. Go to the ATF website, and request a C&R form. They will mail it to you. Once you receive the forms, you need to:
Fill the forms out, one copy for the ATF, one for your local CLEO Write a check for $30.00 to the ATF Mail check and ATF copy to the ATF, mail CLEO copy to your CLEO
Then you just wait, and several weeks later you should have your license.0 -

So I need quantity 2? One for ATF and one for CLEO? 0 -
You only need to input "1" on the form order website; the C&R form comes as a packet with both the ATF copy and the CLEO copy sealed together.
I ordered only 1, they actually ended up sending me 2 of these packets when I ordered my C&R license. So I got 2 ATF copies and 2 CLEO copies. Dunno if this was a mistake or if they just sent an extra copy in case I messed up (which I did, lol).0 -

Takes about 10 days to get the forms, then about 3 weeks, to get the license. Don't worry, there are PLENTY of M44's around. I like mine, too.[}:)][:p][}:)]0 -

SW- pay a visit to cruffler.com They have some good info for you. Cruffler is the slang term for a C&R FFL. Will warn you now- your days of having spare cash are numbered. Sure, it starts with just a M-44, but then there is a sale on 91/30's, and then there is the Swiss K-31, and they really don't want a lot for those 8mm Mausers, and those .303 Enfields are pretty cool, and my LORD- nobody is bidding any higher on that Garand, Mossberg, Marlin, Winchester, Remington..... Too late for me, save yourself![:p] 0
