    I cannot speak for the steel frame models as I don't have one. I do have one of the alloy frame models and have fired perhaps two thousand rounds through it. Both 22lr and 22 magnums, at about a 40/60 ratio, 40 being magnums. I love this pistol for what it is. Every time it goes out, it has a couple hundred rounds through it. After around 1800 or so rounds I did have to remove a small burr on the firing pin, (the side, not the tip) which was causing it to misfire. After polishing that off it has returned to flawless firing. I would like to get one of the steel frame models with the adjustable sights. It will probably be my next purchase.

    Ran across these at a Big R farm suppl store.

    Didn't pick one up but this was the first I'd seen one.

    Wondered what to make of them. Any further opinions for Heritage Arms here?

    I have handled several at gun shows. They all appear to be well made with good fit and finish. The cylinders seem to lock up tight with very little play. I have never shot one, but my first impression is very good quality and attention to detail.

    Have 2, neither the new steel frame though. Have never had an issue, and like swamp_thing. Thousands of rounds have been put through them, personally wouldn't hesitate to get another.

    have had several...never seen a steel...like most all i have set the barrel back to close up gap to 0.003-4..have a 9" model with black pearl grips & wood grips inset with pewter cowboy boots/spurs...been lookin for a used birdshead to switch frame as long barrel does not come in bh grip...simple fun

    What's this 'alloy frame restriction' listed in the advertising brocure? Never heard of it!

    Some states have melting point restrictions to ban alloy/die cast frames (HAWAII, ILLINOIS, MINNESOTA & SOUTH CAROLINA)....My steel frame shoots great [;)]

    So, no S&W bodyguard lightweights in those states. However, California isn't interested in all that. Makes you wonder..

    I bought one of their Rough Rider single action .22s a month or so back......No complaints here, especially not with the price.


    Wish they didn't engrave so many safety warnings into the frame though.
