Cowboys Hire a Thug

Tank Johnson, the former Chicago Bear, just signed a contract with the Dallas Cowboys. I was about to rip on Dallas for hiring a thug, but then I realized what Johnson did that was so "bad" in CHicago is largely legal in Texas.

He was in possession of a Desert Eagle 50cal without a propper permit. No FOID card is necessary in Texas. Heck, in Texas they don't even know what a "FOID" card is. If Tank Johnson assembles a collection like he had in Illinois, he will be considered a man with good taste in Texas. In Illinois they despised him for shooting in his back yard. In Texas, neighbors will walk over an ask "Can I try that out?"

Unfortunately, I expect Dallas to beat the Bears in Chicago Sunday night.

    You shouldn't break the law, but it IS a stupid law.

    The sad thing is that the NFL suspended him for 8 weeks for breaking an unconstiutional law, but there are quite a few NFL stars that routinely break laws, such as DUI and others, and are still allowed to play.

    Yeap, I still remember the way the media fell all over themselves reporting that "Tank" Johnson had 500 rds of ammo at his house, {the media are so clueless and pander to clueless lemmings, 500 rounds aint crap.} he's no saint but until he USES {not posesses} a gun for criminal activity he's fine by me. I will probably eat my words though.

    this is the guy that when he was arrested they said he had an "aresenal" of weapons and ammo. turns out he had 500 rounds, one brick of .22 ammo.

    I had a feeling Jerry would get Tank, and I applaud it. He did his time for breaking the law. Now, like everyone, he has the opportunity to turn it around.

    We will get him cheap and he will either reprove himself as a top notch player or be gone and finished for good.

    I'd like to make lawyer jokes here about supporting the criminal, but I supported Tank when he was in Chicago.

    and the marijuana in his freezer was not his. It belonged to his friend...his dead friend...his dead friend that was shot in a downtown Chicago night club just hours after they were arrested for possessing guns without proper authoization.
