Getting ready
Well, Mrs njretcop and I are due to arrive in Nashville, TN on Friday, Setember 13th to start our vacation at the Opryland Hotel.
So today I backed the old family sedan out of the garage to make sure it's in shape for the trip. I still drive the car that I inherited from Dad, a 1941 Hudson with an "A" sticker in the windshield. (limited to four gallons a week). That reminds me, I hope we won't have any trouble getting gasoline on the road with such a low priority sticker. (Is gas still rationed?) The younger guys on this board are probably wondering what in blazes is old njretcop taking about, lol.
It is about a 15 hour trip from here in NJ and since I am restricted to driving only two hours a day due to age and health reasons, we will be leaving soon. Anybody out there got any hot patches for tire tubes? We don't have a spare due to the rubber shortage.
We will keep you all (oops better make that y'all since we'll be in redneck terrority) posted on our progress. Gotta find that damn road atlas, not sure they finished the new two lane highway yet.

Going out for another day of hunting![:D]
I am hopeing today will be even better than yesterday. It is about 20 degrees cooler (currently 45 outside) and to me it has allways seemed that the deer move better in the cooler weather.
I'd sure like to bag that one leaving the monster tracks out there![:D]0 -
Deer season has been closed on WMA land for 2 weeks now and opens again today.
I am getting ready to head out the door to get me another. Still looking for my buck after getting 2 does.
With things shut down for 2 weeks it ought to be pretty good with the deer being a little calm.0 -
This is a nightmare!
I got people comming over for the superbowl tomarrow and the house is trashed! I had the kids rooms gutted yesterday due to their new bedroom furniture getting here. Everything was piled up in the front room. Now I got to get it all in shape before tomarrow.
I am going to be real busy today![:(]0 -

I got mine comming along pretty good now, but still a ways to go.
That furniture thing is what messed me up. I ordered it before christmas but the wrong stuff came in on the order, so it was delayed. The beds and dressers were part of my kids christmas stuff.
But for the delivery I had to take every little thing out of their rooms and pile it up in the front room. I didn't realize how much stuff the kids really had untill then![:0] But that too was taken care of as anything they don't play with anymore got trashed! Probly got rid of about half of it![:D]0 -
