    You must have your news delivered by carrier pigeon; it's been all over TV since last week.
    Apparently, moreon.org paid 1/3 usual price for a full-page picture of Gen. Petraeus with the caption,"Petraeus or Betray us"; Giuliani wants to pay the same price for his rebuttal.

    Tidbit: did you know that President Eisenhower was one of the few presidents (very few) that left office with the same high public esteem that he had when inaugurated?

    At the Senate hearings on Tuesday, Republican Senator Warner asked General Petraeus: "Is what we are doing in Iraq [the surge] making America safer?"
    Petraeus replied, "I don't know."
    Can you imagine, the day before D-Day, if someone asked General Eisenhower, "Will this invasion make America safer?"
    He would have replied with a definite answer, and not a mealy mouthed "I don't know."

    So, if your son was killed last week in Iraq, and you asked his commanding officer if your son's death made America safer, he would tell you "I don't know."

    Interesting. I though Eisenhower was ranked as a disappointment of a President. Quiet meek mild, nothing grad happened. Now that I think of it, those things sounds lie great qualities for this nation.
