I'd have to say Daniel Craig is just as good, if not better, than Sean Connery.

Actually for the folks that have never read Ian Fleming's books, the two best Bonds have been Timothy Dalton and Daniel Craig. Craig's portrayal may be the best yet insofar as the character goes.

X-ring Bond in the books is not a pretty boy he is a rough and dangerous looking man

Bond's physical description has generally been consistent: slim build; a three-inch, vertical scar on his right cheek (absent from the film version); blue-grey eyes; a "cruel" mouth; short, black hair, a comma of which falls on his forehead (greying at the temples in Gardner's novels); and (after Casino Royale) the faint scar of the Russian cyrillic letter "O" (SH) (for Shpion: "Spy") on the back of one of his hands (carved by a SMERSH agent). In From Russia with Love he is also described as 183 centimeters (6 feet) in height and 76 kilograms (167 lbs.) in weight.

    us55840,

    Of course he's anti-gun. He's BRITISH.

Those folks are absolutely brain-damaged when it comes to private firearms ownership.. second only to the Aussies and communists.

BTW, I agree that Daniel Craig is the best Bond since Sean Connery. Casino Royale was a GREAT Bond movie and Craig did a fantastic job.

I agree. I'm buying it when it hits the DVD shelf, and I saw it in the theater.

I couldn't care less if he was antigun, democrat, or a pink aboriginee/swahili-tribechief..

He did a good job and the movie was great =o)

If I judged movies from what the actors believe in - I'd get very bored.
You can always dig up something that you don't like about the actors..

Yeah he was good but I hated to watch him run. Got the same problem with Tom Cruise. They move their arms about six times faster than their legs and look like spastic wind up toys. Petty but that black dude in the beginning was totally freaking awesome athlete. He was so in control and fluid.

Taking nothing away from Craig (who was quite good) its not so much the actor, as the SCRIPT that was different here.

This last one was the first one in years that was true to the spirit of the original novels, instead of making the Bond character an Austin- Powers superspy caricature.

Supposedly Pierce Brosnan had tried for years to get the Bond company to produce a darker grittier character, but they always refused.

Interesting; I thought Casino Royale was the worst Bond movie I've seen since Diamonds are Forever (oh and we'll ignore all the Roger Moore ones b/c I can't say much good about any of them). Sean Connery was the only true Bond, I still say.

Yes, I'm too young to have seen them new but I did watch them in order.

I have to agree bean. The Bond of the books was "gritty", a paid assaign for the Queen. I also like how there were not as many gadgets in the movie and the ones they had were not big and unrealistic. I am glad they kept the girls good looking though.

I slept through it last night.

I'm going to give it one more try tonight.
