That two hour movie would have only been two minutes long if made today. It was great. Everyone had a sense of humor in the '70s. [:)][:)]0 -
TV makes me sick. They will edit Clint Eastwood blasting a bad guy but think nothing of showing two gays lip locking and tongue pulling.[V][:(!] 0 -

I was trucking out of Billings when that movie was made, they shot part of it on the breaks of the Missouri not far out of town. Brooks & company had some high times in town. Got to meet them through Slim Pickens, who used to rodeo with my great uncles. Had way too much fun.

I watched about 15 minutes of it. Got disgusted and quit. The language dates the movie, but without the language, it just isn't funny. You have to know what was said in order for it to make sense.

Great movie. Thing is, folks who say it is racist are right- it is racist against whites! The black guy, sheriff Bart, is the most well put together guy in the movie! It's everyone ELSE who looks like a moron! [:D] 0 -

I finally broke down and bought it last week ($6.50 at Target). I really didn't notice much of a difference when I saw it on regular TV years ago.

I saw it with my parents (mom was born in Brooklyn). Something that some of you may not know was that when Mel is the Indian Chief, he's speaking yiddish the whole time. I guess in a lot of the cheaper westerns/serials back when my mom was a kid, a lot of the Indian "talk" was yiddish, sort of thrown in by the actors as a lark.
