bore sight ?
In the market for a bore sight, which one should I buy? Those indiviual lasers that look like bullets get expensive.

they are pointless. you can do it wihout tool for bolts and single shots just as well w/o tools.
with rifle in holder(or sofa cushions) with the bolt removed. look thru bore at mailbox or something. then keeping rifle still , more crosshairs to hit mailbox.
the leupold one with the magnet is the one I would buy if I had to though.
all those bore scrappers do nothing0 -

I use a laserlyte universal laser boresighter. It fits .22-.50 cal. and works like a charm. I have boresighted a ton of scopes here in the store and mine at home. I boresighted my 10-22 and when I went to the range it was dead on at 100 yards. I've had customers tell me that the most they had to move the crosshairs was 2 inches to get dead on. A lot quicker than looking down the bore, and you don't have to be still. They retail for under $70.0 -

I have one of the inexpensive Laserlyte bore sighters. It has the rubber o-rings for bores from .17 to 12 Gauge, and a magnetic cone at the other end that centers it in the bore.
It was less expensive than the 'bullet' lasers, and is more accurate as it actually sites using the last 6" or so of the barrel, not the the chamber. If memory serves it was under $ 80.00.
I have used it to site scopes on a Garand, a Saiga 7.62 x 39, an AK, a PLR-16, and even a Desert Eagle .357. It got me to within a couple of inches at 100 yards on the rifles, and at 30 yards on the pistols. It is also great for changing scopes, as you simply record the 'zero' point and duplicate it with the new scope (provided the scope height is the same).0 -

I bought a Bushnell laser bore sight last week from www.sportsmanguide.com. It looks like that laserlyte except it is black. I've tried it out in the Remington 241 .22, MAK-90, and Remington 700 .270. The plastic tip that screws on to the end to hold the laser firmly in the barrel wasn't working to well in the .270. The laser would tip down and I didn't mess with it much.
I think playing with the laser with the scope at night will be interesting. I'm curious where the laser will be at 100 yards.
Next I tried the .22. It was dead on with the open sights when I shined it on the wall in the living room. I already knew guns sight was accurate. The MAK showed the front sights is off, which I already suspected. There's a lot of fudge factor in the MAK's sights. I need an adjustment tool.
The laser is a fun little toy. When I get a scope on the MAK it will be a useful little toy.0
