Is it possible?
That in WI one of the republicans could switch parties, vote in favor of the reform and allow the other republicans to vote and pass the law? If they have to have 1 democrap there to hold the vote would this not work?
Is it legal or an option to switch parties in politics?
Just wondering.

I have had this thought for years... finally going to put it out there for y'all to ponder. Is it possible our own govt. brainwash folks to commit these horrible acts? It is an election year and if some leverage could come out of this... for the Democrats ... I leave no stone un turned. 0 -
Was talking with some fellow officers today, and they all agreed, that since my return, they say I have changed in some way.
They refused to "put a finger on it", but implied, that I was somehow.....more humane.
This is really bothering me. My trip "down south" was supposed to sharpen the ole edge.
Could it be......?
Stay safe!!The "ONLY" bad thing about owning "A GUN" is....not owning at least two or more!0 -
To remove teflon or industrial finish from a gun and reblue or nickel plate it? 0 -
Can you still be an atheist if you believe in Karma as a principle? And shouldn't doghnuts really be called doughwheels? And if murder is illegal than why make any laws at all about guns? It is as if by possessing a gun I am assumed to be intending to murder someone? If that is true then every gun owner should be arrested for conspiracy to commit murder. Since obviously every gun owner is not planning to murder someone then I ask again; What is the societal good that is supposed to be achieved by restricting guns? 0 -

You have to dream that you go to sleep. Before you can do that you have to learn to control yourself in your dreams. Try looking at the back of your hand when you are dreaming.Once you can do that we'll talk more.[:)]0 -
I feel that this applies to those against gun ownership and my MFR to all of them..religion well thats another topic..[V].Loko

It's called lucid dreaming and yes, you can train yourself to do it. You can change characters around, change the ending of a dream, and even change the plot if you want. I still cannot make things happen in dreams that cannot actually be done in real life. No Superman feats or changing of natural laws. Other than that prohibition for me, the world (and space) are my nocturnal playgrounds.
ADDENDUM; Karma does not require Heaven or Hell to work. You can be a religious person or an atheist. Doesn't matter.0 -

In answer to what I recognize as basically rhetorical questions --
So far as there is any genuine desire for societal good, when "they" talk of banning guns, it's to a greater or lesser degree wishful or naive thinking. It boils down to "we have to start somewhere" and, apparently, because I'm considered somewhat less likely to kill the police officer trying to disarm me than someone who's already a violent criminal, it's a no-brainer as to the proper or at least safest place to start.
The emotional, "wouldn't-our-society-be-safer-without-guns" types are dangerous, if for no other reason than the power of their votes, but the real problem is with those who are going about securing gun control in a businesslike and professional manner. These people have no desire for a safer society, as such, and probably have even more contempt for their emotional, weepy allies than I do. Their aim isn't to make you, me, or society as a whole safer. It's to be able to tell you, me, and society as a whole what to do, without having to bother with this inefficient nonsense of allowing us even token say in what that will be. What makes these people still more dangerous is that, in their own ways, many of them are (or at least believe themselves to be) good Americans. They simply believe that the rather chaotic system we have at present would work ever-so-much better if a very select group of the "right" people were controlling things and the rest of us were just -- controlled.
Guns are the wild card in this equation. So, too, is a knowledge of one's own history, and a respect for the actions and values of those who lived that history. The political correctionists, simply by attempting to re-tell (falsely) or ignore history, demonstrate contermpt for that history and by extension the country that exists now because of what was done then. Those who know and honor where we come from don't take lightly to those who are attempting to derail the whole process, and it doesn't hurt our cause one bit to be armed with factual history and knowledge -- along with a gun or two. Or several. Or lots. I personally like lots.
No one cares about your safety, or mine. Our obedience will be sufficient.0 -
I am sure that the atheistic Karma thing will be a great relief to many.
Psky, no super powers in your dreams? No flying or walking through walls? Bummer.0 -

Oh, no. Another DWS.0 -
I am presently working after-hours for an elderly man, a retiree from our State Department, who sincerely and politely believes that the first and worst mistake this nation ever made was in breaking away from England. The second was in not immediately establishing our own aristocracy. Quote: "The right people need to be making the decisions in this country, and that hasn't happened in our entire history."
My suggestions that he transport his person, attitude, and money (much as my financial situation dictates that I take his money) to a country more congenial to his views are dismissed as the vague rambling of a somewhat uppity servant.
I've also worked most of my adult life for a couple of public school districts, and can assure you that, when "they" feel no one's listening who actually matters (meaning they talk freely in front of me[}:)]), the majority of the administrators running both shows made no bones that the public's place was to pay taxes and provide kids to be educated. A school board meeting for which no one showed up is usually considered the best kind -- no chance of tedious discussion about what the powers-that-be have already decided will or won't be done anyhow.
I see no evidence that the powers-that-be further up the food chain feel significantly different about low-lives like me "contributing" to the governing of this country. Hence, again, a need to deprive me of the means of brute force to back up my rather poor attitude.
You know, like has been done in truly "civilized" countries.0 -
I promise to stop if someone will tell me what a DWS is. 0 -

I appreciate a well thought out and equally well worded response to what was a rhetorical question in that there are as many proper answers as there are aswerers. And DWS gets all emotional in his retorts so the two are nothing alike. He's been like that since the war when on leave he accidentally turned on the lights in a seedy, by the hour, hotel and saw a naked French woman. They don't shave you know. Totally freaked him out.0 -
[:D]Okay. That's fair. And I did promise I'd quit if I were told that, so I'll bail.
But I'll be ba-a-ack....0 -
You're right, Big. I recant the statement about another DWS. I didn't have to get the dictionary out to understand what he said. 0 -

Dang you! I've been messed in the head since I went to that meeting about making our meeting feel less like meetings at 1:00 today. I was just coming to grips with reality again, burying those demons in my head that I have thought were defeated a year ago, when I read this post. Now I'm all messed up again!
Maybe I should just go get drunk for theraputic reasons.0
