Opinion Poll?
So now, Virginia has decided to pursue charges on Michael Vick and the others. What do you think?
(1) What took them so long?
(2) It's over prosecution, the Fed's case is enough.

His original charges were federal charges I believe. Virginia is state charges. Often times a person who is charged with 20 different counts ends up being convicted of only 2 or 3.
However, my take on this case is this....ALL of the people involved were given plea deals in order to testify against Vick. BUT...why wasnt Vick given a plea deal to testify against the other conspiritaors ? Is there any evidence that Vick did anything more wrong than the other suspects ? The reason is simple...Federal prosecutors are all politicians in the making and they seek publicity and fame. Now bear in mind I believe Vick is guilty and I think he should do jail time. BUT...why is everyone getting a plea deal to testify against him when the prosecutors could have done the opposite ?0 -

It's over prosecution, Florida's is enough. What did I miss? Is FL prosecuting Vick also? Sorry, been "out of the news" all weekend.0 -

So, what happens if he's found not guilty? 0 -

He walks and resumes his career I guess. I think if the NFL investigation turned up some good reasons, they could suspend him anyway, but that would be hard with a not guilty verdict.0 -

they were probably waiting to see how the fed's investigation went; just recently (as in, the other day, I think) the feds finished plea bargaining with the other defendants to testify against him.
from what the other defendants said so far, most all of it was financed by vick, and he even actually did some of the electrocuting and hanging.
I think they're going to slamdunk that dude.0 -

I am a major dog lover (I can do without the jokes)... One of the reasons that tobe could never be president is the fact that that on the Whitehouse lawn there would be a bloodstain from where I had the final word on Vicks fate...
Yea the State should prosecute... This ain't just a black mark on the man...it is a black mark on humanity. And it is about freaking time that that black mark is erased!!!0 -

Your reasoning that this is all because federal prosecutors are politicians is wrong. The reason they got the other guys to turn on Vick is because without Vick and his money, there was no "Bad Newz Kennels." There was no financing for the dog-fighting operation in the first place. You always go after the "top dogs" by trying to get their underlings to flip on them. If this gambling ring is larger than Vick, they will try to get him to turn on the other higher-ups. It's like drug dealers. You don't accomplish much by taking the dealer off the street. But you go after his supplier, and his supplier's supplier and so on.
BTW...in answer to heff's poll...neither one or two. The state charges are totally separate from the federal charges. Happens quite often that defendents are charged in both courts.0 -
I really really would like to know how all the defensive linemen feel about Vick.[?] 0 -
