IL SB 1007 high cap magazine ban passes in senate
SB 1007 has passed through the senate today.

This bans all high cap magazines beyond 10 rnds unless the person had it in his or her possesion before the ban and only allows the transfer of such devices to heirs or someone out of state. If passed through the house (which it probably will), you will soon not be able to buy high cap magazines in Illinois anymore.
Heard one of our wonderful lawmakers on the radio today spouting off about how banning high capacity magazines "COULD HAVE PREVENTED THE VIRGINIA TECH INCIDENT FROM HAPPENING". They say we will be much safer getting these high capacity magazines out of the hands of our citizens.
There's probably only about half a million of them floating around in this state. They'll disappear as soon as they sign the bill, surely. [:o)]
My question is, since none of these are tracked, how would anybody have any clue on who owned what before or after the ban or when a magazine was purchased? This is their feel good legislation?
So anyway, soon a bad guy with 'one' clip is only capable of killing 10 people instead of 15. Problem solved!
A classroom of 5th graders could come up with more logical legislation than the a-holes we have in Springfield right now.

Yes, Illinois is spirally downward!!, High cap ban does nothing as we know.. Taxes, well, they can't raise them fast enough here,,I have a state sen that does represent his area well, but thats one.

I suppose the NRA would call this a "compromise". We lose the 30 round mag but get to keep the AR and AK. Defeat is never compromise.0 -
I thought about it last night and I am going to buy 5 AR and 2 AK magazines.
Mrs. Plaid is probably not going to be happy about buying mags for something I cannot fire but what the heck. I'll pass them down to my heirs.0
