Most of the time i try to mind my business when there is a disagreement.
You were and are wrong when you called Duce 1's post about his son BS. I wasn't a sniper but i was in VietNam and i do know there were prices put on sniper's head, name known or not.
I could call BS on your post about the fight you posted about, or the Hammer you said your Father used in the Pacific, if i didn't know things like that WAS used as a weapon. You can call BS on my careing a 12" cresent wrench, however it doesn't make it untrue. I have no idea if you were in the Military or war or not. I have lots of respect for You're Father. Just as i have lots of respect for Duce's son and any one else who defends their Country, or friends.
think about it. everyone loves and respects their Heroes.0 -

What did you guys see good in blackhorn?
I've been meaning to ask this question for quite a while. Seriously. I didn't care for the guy and often wondered what was seen in his that others were missing.
Yeah, I know this could be a hot subject and some offensive things might be said. I won't say them. I am curious.0 -
everyone has friends, they might not be close, or even good.
but they are still friends.0 -
Heck, I even like HAIRY. I don't often agree with him, but I like him. 0 -

Interesting, you speak of Hairy in the present tense. Good to hear.0 -

Capt, I usually enjoy your thoughtful post, but really, who cares what they saw in him. The fact that you didn't like him and they did should be enough. Are you second guessing your original judgement?
Could you have been wrong?
Too late, he's dead. Damn him a blue streak, he won't care or cuss you back. Frankly I don't even remember the dude, that's how big an impression he made on me. Remember what you liked about life, not what you didn't.

That's because HAIRY is alive and well, and well-remembered, even though he has chosen to be absent from our group.0 -

I guess it's more that I try to understand people. FOr instance, if someone at work has a bitch while it may be incoherent, I'll try to listen and try to understand. One nternet psychological profile called me a "Mastermind" not because I try to influence others but I try to understand others. Call it a character flaw.
I understood blackhorn well enough. What I never understood was what Tom A. Hawk and his son saw in him that I did not.0 -
I didn't care for him much either, but he is dead now.
RIP Blckhrn.0 -
I think jacob and tomahawk (This is only a guess and there could be more to it) liked blackhorn because he gave jacob an AK47 less a receiver. I think, if I remember right, Locust fork then gave jacob a receiver and jacob and his dad Tomahawk assembled the AK47. I am sure there was communication between all parties involved in makeing the AK47 and friendships were formed.
I saw some things blackhorn did that I wouldn't have done and gave me a dim view of him, but I also saw him offer an AK47 free of charge to a young man who showed an interst in firearms Which I found commendable of blackhorn.0 -

capt. ...to answer your question...i fully understand that many here did not like him,i even understood why those folks felt that way. but alot was brought on by groups picking, ganging up on him, pushing his buttons if you will while he was drunk. the man dealt with death daily in terminal patients, cancer, aids ,blood borne diseases, leukemia, etc. he was a specialist and could not get insurance on himself due to the high risk, this ultimately cost him his life.
Years ago i worked as a tool maker in a machine shop, through e-mails blackhorn found this out. he was an avid gunsmith. i made him tooling for several projects along with jigs. he was always impressed that what could be done in my shop by simple machines[mostley homade]and by hand. contrary to popular belief, US HILLBILLYS have made do for centurys, and iv'e always been good at it. he never poked fun at me ,and i returned the same respect. he trusted me and took me for my word as i did him. never had a problem. then came the giveaway that he gave jacob along with locust forks help. jacob being my son is a hillbilly boy himself, and will not turn on one he calls friend, a code of the hills when they have done us no harm. two weeks before he passed he confessed he was a unbeliever on the phone to me,he knew he was sick and told me so. i spoke with him three hours he confessed his sins, and recieved christ as his savior, i wish him well[;)]0 -
Exchanged emails with BLKHRN on a few occasions.
Mind you: outside his GB persona, James was a good man. Hold nothing but respect for him and his profession.
Rest in peace, my friend.0 -
polite psyco, i did not mean to cut you out,Just so folks know, it was polite who gave jacob the mags for the ak when he had none out of a kind jesture. Don't ever look for jacob to ever turn on polite either. it won't happen as he too is considered friend and jacob would help him back anytime, code of the hills 0 -
Code of the Hills, code of the Barrios.
