More kids today...
The other thread got me thinking...and then in the middle of reading it, O'Reilly had a segment about "Kids are Americans Too".
They asked a random selection of kids what was good about being an American..."hot chics" was one young teens answer.
Would you live in another country if given the chance? Yes. Where? Europe and Japan ( Well let me help you pack your bags boys)
Asked if they think they owed their country anything, the resounding answer was "NO".
Asked one teen if he would join the military to repay his country...his answer was "He:: no...what have they done for me".
These are the future of America...it looks bleak. Now I know not ALL teens are like this, but the percentage that were raised with values and manners and a sense of responsibility and patriotism is dwindling rapidly.
Someone tell me I am wrong....PLEASE!!!

The only other country in the world I would consider living in would be New Zealand.
I'll go as soon as they adopt our Constitution.

Cummon Medic, think about it . 30 years ago, it was the same way.
The "reporter" guy wants a story, so he goes to the kid that's gonna give him one. The ones that will be running the show, in the future weren't available for comment.0 -
I can only hope that it isn't as bleak as it seems fish. But even the young kids we are getting in the military lately leave a lot to be desired.
I have gotten 8 new airmen in my clinic in the last 14 months. Only 3 of them are still in...the others couldn't hack it. They were disrespectful, insubordinate, lazy, you name it.
Two really were a blast:
#1: straight up told me and the squadron commander that he came in for college and he wasn't deploying to the combat zone (Qatar in this case). Separated with a General Discharge (JAG didnt want to push for Court Martial...gave an Article 15 instead).
#2: 19 and couldn't stay sober. Two PIs by the local LEOs and finally a DUI. Found out he had several Minor in Possession charges and a DUI at home in Oklahoma prior to entry.0 -
