For informational purposes, it is a real early (mid 4-digit serial number) Special Sporting Rifle, 30" No. 3 full octagon barrel marked and chambered for the 40-90 Ballard (2-15/16") cartridge, single-set trigger, Lyman front sight, and an early Lyman No. 1 (first variation transition) tang sight, 3X deluxe stocks with H-pattern checkering, all of which letter.     I didn't pay anywhere near $55,000.00 for it[?] I would not take a penny less than $15K for it today, and it isn't for sale.
