My old Goodwill special West Bend is leaking and can make a good cup anymore. This is a sad day.

Why stop at a 12-cup? Why not get one of those commercial Bunn (I think that's what they are) coffee pots that make something like 40 cups at a time?

I found that I prefer the taste of percolator coffee. The largest percolator I've found is the stove top 12.

Why not use the big industrial grade dispenser percolator we have at home? It's just sitting around collecting dust.

Automatic drip coffee makers - Mr. Coffe's, Krups, Braun, West Bend, et al - often produce an inferior cup of coffee only because the water is not in contact with the grinds long enough. I'm referring to the average vanilla ADC grind used by all of the suppliers and stores.

If you take the same amount of coffee grinds you use now and grind them further to a finer consistency, you will be surprised at the depth and body of the resultant coffee. A finer grind increases the surface area of the coffee as it's being exposed to the hot water.

Hunt up website for Lehman's non electric stuff. Out of Kidron OH, they supply a lot of stuff to the Amish. They sell a stainless steel 12 cup percolator. Will outlast you.

Mrs. Plaid has started making a cold brew coffee then reheating it to a hot coffee. I must say it is one of the better coffees I've had.

Most of departments at work use percolators. Mold Repair makes the best. I think it is because they sandblast the urn to clean it rather than just rinse it out. Some other departments are just terrible.
