Meaningless words...

I like words.

I have a rather extensive list of words that are used all the time that are essentially meaningless.

Do y'all have any??

Weaponry instead of weapons

Technologically instead of technically

    To say "I could care less," when they mean "I could not care less."
    The two expressions have completely different meanings.

    "Disinterested" used to mean "uninterested."

    Distinterested has a completely different meaning.

    If grow were not a verb, how could trees do it?

    -verb (used without object) 1. to increase by natural development, as any living organism or part by assimilation of nutriment; increase in size or substance.
    2. to form and increase in size by a process of inorganic accretion, as by crystallization.
    3. to arise or issue as a natural development from an original happening, circumstance, or source: Our friendship grew from common interests.
    4. to increase gradually in size, amount, etc.; become greater or larger; expand: His influence has grown.
    5. to become gradually attached or united by or as if by growth: The branches of the trees grew together, forming a natural arch.
    6. to come to be by degrees; become: to grow old.

    "MEANINGLESS Dribble" You may need an interrupter, but it means something.

    "IS" - Apparently has more than one meaning, although I can't seem to find it.

    But just plain GROW? As in; "GROW the business". Sounds like ebonics to me.

    As in: Grow the corn. Not ebonics...unless ebonics was rooted amongst the West-Central Minnesota Dutch-Norwegian farmers.

    Yeah I know, it is a little organic for me too, but it is correct. I guess it goes with "pro-active," one I dislike.

    Both are good words, supposably being an adverb meaning conjectured to be, and supposedly being an adjective meaning assumed to be, or stated to be, but unverified.

    As in:

    HandgunHTR52 went to town and supposably will return.

    HangunHTR52 went to town and supposedly will return at 4:00.

    Doug, I'm not going to mince words here. An adverb is an adverb, plain and simple.

    "Boots on the ground" words in committee, but when the press pick it up, ugg.

    I'm guilty, though.

    I'll try to be better.
