32" LCD Sony M, S, & XBR series .. vs. LG?

Has anyone an opinion on Sony's M Series LCD screens compared to their
S Series & XBR Series screens?

Brother just bought the LG, and likes it. My choices, so far:

Sony KDL-32XBR4
Sony KDL-32S3000
LG 32LC7D
Sony KDL-32M3000

There are so many on display, I'm overwhelmed. However, the Sony picture looks better.

I'm looking for great contrast.

    I've got a new 42" Phillips LCD 1080i HDTV. I am very happy with it and it's picture is excelent!

    Between the Sony and the LG I personally would go with the Sony models.

    My best friend, John Rowland, owns an independent shop which does warranty work on all the brands of television, and all the technologies.

    According to him, the Sony LCDs are the best units by far.

    So the difference between the M, S, and XBR series units will be picture quality, but
    going with a Sony in general is a good idea?

    I had come to the conclusion over a year ago that Sony had the best picture.

    The prices for the 32" Sony range from $800 to $1300.

    I also looking at the Vizio VX32L. On sale and with an extra 10%, it would be about $500 out the door at Sears. That's the model Sam's Club is carrying. With Satisfaction Guaranteed, it's easy enough to return if the picture is not what I want.

    I'm working my way through a bunch of DVDs from NetFlix, but constantly get preempted for tube time by my wife. Yes, I can always read a good book, but then I have to use precious brain activity processing words and using my imagination. Why bother, when Hollywood has done all the work for me?

    Besides, recovering from pneumonia is time consuming. Might as well have a decent TV.

    You can get a 50' inch Panasonic PLAZMA for the same proce as those other tv's

    According to my friend, plasma has the shortest longevity, in general, because of the extremely high temperatures - not good for electronics.

    Typical life span us 2 years or less.

    Hope you got the extended warranty.

    I bought a 32" Sony Bravia just before the Super Bowl last year. I have been really pleased with it. Great picture.

    Which one? Right now there are three, the M Series, the S Series, and the BXR Series.

    I see the most feedback on the S; the M "started it all", and the XBR is the latest.
