This followed me home today:
It's a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis, fully loaded, with 46,660 miles. Beautiful car. Rides nice too.

I had an 85 merc looked just like a lincoln,, went thru 3 motors in 5 years. Dang Ford motors anyway, couldnt keep an oil pump in em, they would quit pumping oil and no gauge or light would tell ya, and all at once Knock, Knock, Knock..[xx(] 0 -

That is a genuine Road Trip car.
I've criss-crossed the nation half a dozen times in one. I took it up to 173K with no repairs of any kind, and it was still strong when I gave it away.0 -
Whoa, weird, I have been looking at those for a few weeks. Nearly bought a 1999 Tuesday, may buy it tomorrow if I can find the time. They are a real bargain in the used car world right now.

But then who am I to talk? I drive a 1.8L Subaru. I have a hard time maintaining 60MPH on the mountain grades around here. I use the back seat as a trash can and there's enough dust on the dash that I can take notes there if I need to (literally--and I do sometimes take notes there).

You also need to learn the old man classic driving move of cutting hard into the left lane without a turn signal, followed by the lock-up the brakes and turning left again without a signal.
Don't for get to drive the signiture speed of 35mph in a 55.[;)]

I've noticed that a lot of people will call large American cars "granny car" and then go and buy a hum-drum boring underpowered 4-banger POS like a Camry or Accord [xx(]

CGR, I financed about 12,100 for it, which is less than what the dealer was originally asking. They dropped the price about 1500 before tax, title and license. 0 -

I was raised to be very prejudice. There was a time I knew the Chevy truck of the 70's and 80's. I understood Chevy logic.
Today I don't discriminate. Chevy...Ford...whats the difference. I didn't leave Chevy. Chevy made some grievous sins with the '88 body change. I guess I haven't forgiven them yet. Today, I don't see much difference in a Chevy or Ford.

Someday I might even consider a dodge.0
