I'm a jerk
Ex-wife has been going through a rough time. She calls, talks to me, talks to Dawnie. Her husband hasn't been very supportive. Actually, he has been downright cruel. Both of them drink way too much.
Tonight, she was suicidal. Got an injury to her neck/shoulder from Hubby slamming her to the floor while taking her pistol away from her.
So, since she lives a considerable distance away, I did what any other concerned friend would do: I called the local LE agency to have someone go and check her out. They did. I couldn't count on her husband to get her help, since he apparently hates her guts these days. Anyhow, she went to a hospital, got checked out, and for whatever reason, they didn't keep her.
Now, I am a jerk, to put it nicely. Have had to disconnect phone to avoid the calls.
On the positive side, they both now hate me, and that gives them something in common. Maybe they can build on that.

I'm a jerk. I admit it. Jerk through and through. Yep, that's what a lady called me the today.
This week I'd talked to her about buying some cordless drills through craigslist. We emailed back and forth several times, and I asked her twice to make sure the batteries were in good shape, could hold a charge and do work. Sure, sure, she told me, her husband checked them all out.
Friday I drive 30 mins to her house, verify that everything is in the case, pop in a battery, and the drill spins away. Looks good. I drive 30 mins home, take out the dustbuster that was in there too, and start cleaning up some mess. I can literally hear the thing slowly wind down. In one minute the battery is flat dead. I sigh, try the other battery. 30, 45 seconds tops. Sigh.
I charge them both for six hours that night, and they're dead as dead can be. I call the woman up and tell her. Oh, bring them back I guess she tells me. I drive 30 mins back to her house, and I hand her all her stuff. I then very politely tell her that if she'd checked the batteries like I'd asked her to, she could have saved both of a lot of time. She huffs and says I don't have to be a jerk about it.
A jerk, yeah, that's me.0 -
I guess we couldn't hide it from you forever.[:D][:D][:D]
Just Joking.[;)][B)]0 -
Yep, I'm often called worse..for nothing more than expecting people
to keep their word, or do what's right. How these people can say it
with a straight face is baffling.lol0 -

When honesty and accuracy are of no importance to certain people, it's not much of a surprise that they view those who expect it to be jerks.[:)]0 -

And that's all I need. The chair, the remote, these matches, and that it. I don't need anything else. And this thermos. And that's it. That's all I need.
