Money, Money, Money, Money............Monnnnnnnney
I am working entirely too much.
320 hours this month.
Do the math..
Over 10hrs/day.
My manager at Sportsman's Warehouse messed up my schedule (like he always does, it's really not that hard). I called him out on it, not in front of anyone, nor did I get crappy. I just said, "Hey, I won't be here these days." Suddenly I'm Part-Part-timer, and he was starting to b^tch to other employees about how I'm worthless and he's firing me when I get back from my vacation (my Reelfoot trip). I found this out from other employees. I talked to him about it and went to the store manager who loves having me there (I work, for example). So, my boss has a personal vendetta towards me, making me do all kinds of crap, and said I will work everyday I have off at the plant. He's just being an asshat, trying to get me to quit. I'll play his little game. The Store Manager said this BS WILL stop, if hs has to fire someone, so be it.
Now I will not have a chance to hunt or even hardly see Tori, for that matter.
I told my boss that "I don't need this job like you do, this is for my play money. You can either lay off this charade, or I can take you down with me."
I don't think he like that. Course, the store manager won't let him fire me.

Wrong approach. If one of my staff told me that then I would figure that I could treat him like dirt for five days a week and not lose any sleep over it.0 -

It's the truth.
I don't care if he doesn't like it. Mark, the store manager, will not deal with this crap. He does not like Eric, my direct supervisor. Eric sits on his butt all day, messes everything he touches up, and thinks he's invinceable.
Mark told me that he wasn't transferred to this store to fire anyone, but also wasn't transferred here to make friends. He said if he has to fire someone, that's what will happen.
The good thing, Mark loves having me there.0 -
It seems like the bigger stores don't appreciate the people who actually WORK.....because they don't know how everything gets done or who does it. Just make certain you get credit for all you do by the people who matter there...or at least they realize how much you add to the place. Try not to fuss and fight. No amount of work you do will make up for the fact that a "rift" is happening between the people who work there. An unhappy work place is horrible to be in (even for those not involved in any way.) 0 -

I usually take off on Friday's, and hey, if I can lend a hand, just give me a holler. [:o)][:D]0 -

If all he needed was a hand, he could handle it himself. Don0 -

Let me see here...U said you're FREE over there or is the FREEDOM only for the guys that hire u or fire u ?[8D]
Well may i suggest some great socialist stuff...What's wrong with socialist stuff anyway?...Coz its great for the people. The only thing is that u need to balance it up so both the companys can grow and the people feel secure enough to continue spending their earnings...If u worry bout loosing your job u might posssibly not borrow money and buy that new Dodge u had your eyes on, and that's bad for america u see [;)]
Hmm anyhow The thinggy u guys need is called unions. But regulate them so u can jail em if they get corruptive ideas bout your memberfees.[8D][8D][8D]

What the hell are you talking about?
This is a job I work primarily for the discounts (on firearms, ammo, equipment, etc) and play money.
My other job is my carrer which pays the bills and allows me money to invest for retirement. I am a union member there.
I am not afraid of losing either job. If I lose the job at the sporting goods store, who cares? If I want to keep making play money, I'll work somewhere else.0 -
Well with the american system even i would let u go if u talk to people like that.or what the hell is your problem ?
So anyways in your extrajob u dont belong to a union and they can fire u whenever they want then, but not in your regular job ?0 -

Thanks Reloader.
I've already let the man upstairs (literally upstairs) know. The store manager has asked me about management positions and all kinds of stuff. It'd be a 50% cut in pay and I couldn't afford it, but that in itself shows me that he appreciates my working there.
I've told him the same thing, I said, "Don't take this as a threat, but I don't need to work here. I do it for the extra money and of course the discounts. I enjoy my job, feel I am doing an excellent job, and hope to continue working here for quite some time. However, it's people like Eric that can ruin it for everyone. You know what kind of employee I am, I do what is asked of me with 100% satisfaction, offer excellent advice for the customers, and turn out a lot of sales in the few hours I'm here each week. Not to mentions the return customers who come back. You can tell who asked me to do something by how quickly it gets done and how it looks when it is done."
He (Mark, the store manager) nodded the entire time I spoke, listening to every word. He is a very nice guy, but stern (a former Marine Sgt.) when need be. He also agreed that no one should have to work like this, under total scrutiny from their direct supervisor.
It gets bad when 8 people are standing around BS'n with each other. I'm talking to a customer (the only employee doing anything), and my boss picks me out of the crowd (everytime) and asks me to go fix someone elses area. We have areas (ammo, dog training, case, reloading, etc.) That there are assigned teams to keep inventory, stocked, and straightened up.0 -
Cubs, Sounds like you make this Eric (peon) feel inadequate, so he likes to get you out of the public eye, and have you do the sheet jobs to make himself look/feel more important than he could ever imagine to be. remember one thing.. YOU quit.. HE wins. you don't sound like a loser to me, hang in there your toys depend on it[:)] 0 -
As I recall you are able to buy guns a one hell of a price there... that would be more than enough to take a little crap till someting better comes a long And ten hour day are pretty common now days.... often six days a week... Sometimes seven~~~Sit down and budget your time. Make damn sure you give that lil lady her share...learn all the angles at work all the contacts, you and the lil lady aplly for a SBL and FFL and set up your own shop someday!!! Then you can work 16 hrs a day....work work work....be an ant not a grasshopper... 0 -

Amen dude, thanks. I deal with a co-worker who does the same thing here at the plant. If I bid out and change departments, he wins. There is one person of the 200 some that work here, that he likes. And the feeling isn't even mutual. Lucky me, I get to spend nights, weekends, and holidays with the dumb SOB. This guys is really a peice of crap. Yelled at a young female supervisor (not ours) until she cried, now he brags about it to everyone. The most racist and sexist person I've ever met. He's an Army Special Forces Veteran of Vietnam. Has never told anyone what he did or where he was stationed. Even "actual" Vietnam vets who work here. But, he likes to tell everyone that he's shot and killed people, etc. He was a Commander at the VFW, but was booted after laundering money. Like I said, a real POS.
I'll play their games, but they will NOT win. [}:)]0 -

I can't help but wonder if being the center of the Universe makes you feel light headed, Cubs? You certainly appear to be a legend in your own mind. 0 -

As long as you, for some reason, are upset, I'm doing just fine.
What the hell is your problem anyway?0 -
Nevermind, I don't give a flying crap anyway. 0 -
I don't care where you work, there's always one ass ole. 0 -
Wow kind of a tuff crowd today. Most people live to work and don't understand those of us who work to live. If you are a good worker, which I bet you are, and your know guns and hunting, which you have demonstrated here that you do, you are in the top 1% of Sportsman's Warehouse employees. Add this to the fact you don't need the job and you become a huge threat to your immediate manager.
Given the American management system I'll bet this guy has been promoted by attrition and odds are HE is the one with the swelled head. So {auto sensor} him! If he wants to make your life miserable than take it with a smile and give it right back to him 10 fold, that is the American way!0 -
throw $10 bills all over you bed and roll in it and take pictures and send them to your boss with a big thank you balloon.[8D] 0 -

Yeah. He doesn't know that by scheduling me all this extra time, he's just giving me more play money. He'll be getting an ear full from corporate soon, then he'll be cutting hours per corporate.0
