I have been thinking about a give away

-This is not a give away yet!-
I was thinking about making some BBQ branding Irons at work for the large BBQ parties in your life or just to personalize it. Put them in the coals or open flame and get them red hot for stamping .

I need some ideas- Keep it simple[:)]

I was thinking branding Irons with your-
initials-
or a set of three that would be R=rare M=medium W=well.

What ya think?

    The idea of a "W", "M", and "R" branding iron is one I've never heard of.

    I couldn't use a brand with my initials, since our family brand is still up to date, thanks to my oldest brother. IT's registered and I can use it legally. My wife won't go for it, though...[}:)]

    what about med rare, and med well?

    i like the initial ideal, may be more useful outside the bbq, and you only have to make one

    Never made any Branding irons before, Can't be that hard, I will post a pick of on of our latest hand forged rails so you can see difficult[:D]

    12 to 16 inch handle maybe.

    ...Cool idea. Here's a pic of one that my grandpa made, with his initials. I never knew him, so I don't know what he used it for. He was a Swiss born blacksmith, and may have made it just for fun.

    12 to 16 would be a little short due to the amount of heat in the metal.

    I would say 24" minimum but his idea of 36" would probly be better.


    And this would be a great give-a-way!

    I to would be interested in buting a set of these.[:D]
