Is two nice used Weaver ?

Is 2 used Weaver 6X Scopes worth $100.00 they both have a very bright clear picture?

    I have bought several for $35-$40. There may well be regional differences in price. There are much better new scopes on the market today, and common Weavers are not very collectable, so I would say offer $60 and try to get them for $75.

    Thank you He Dog, I really had no idea. Im glad I ask before buying them. Ive found Simmons to be a good poor boys scope anyway, seen a 4 - 12 X 40MM at Wally for 54.00. It was their last one regular price $79.00. I guess I will go that route.

    No worries. One good reason to have Weaver 4x or 6x is to have period scopes on older rifles. My 99's all have period Weavers, and a couple of older .22's also wear weavers.

    I have a couple of Weaver T series scopes. They are hard to beat.

    I agree they do have a good site picture, one would think with today's technology even a cheap scope would compare. But both are strait 6X40 and had a beautiful site picture. Select-Fire gave me a good BSA a yr or two back and its a great scope. She tops off a see through mount on a .35 Rem. As for the 99's I actually had a chance to buy one chambered for the 30-30 but didnt have enough common since to buy it, although I tried to buy it he didnt want to sale it. Then after Deer season sent me word he would sale it. But he lives 50 miles or so away. Wish I would have bought that gun. It still bugs me!

    They actually had decent glass, not great, but very decent. Today's scopes with multiple lens coatings and all BAK4 glass, really are better optically. Heck you can buy a better scope or binocular today for $100, than almost any of the scopes or binoculars made by anyone in 1960 and before.

    The bite on 99's is that for most of them mounting a scope requires a Stith mount, which will set you back about $150 minimum.

    I never cease to be amazed at the number of old Weaver scopes that I see. Maybe I run with the wrong crowd.
