Anyone gonna watch the race tomorrow?

Dale earnhardt jr is gonna win this one, its a fast track, you watch.

    I will probably be flipping back and fourth between the race and the badgers-buckeyes game. Getting a lot of snow here in WI so ain't gonna have much else to do(have no shoveling to do cause I live in an apartment).

    I hope he does, but if you look at Junior's history with the 2 mile flat tracks (Cali and Michigan), traditionally he doesn't do very well. That said, he finished 3rd both times at Michigan last year, so we'll see. Maybe they finally figured the flat tracks out? Either way, go #8!

    I met Ricky a number of years ago (he still was in the Tide car), and actually got to have breakfast with him and talk. He is a very down to earth guy. And you are right, for and old timmer he still has a fire in him for raceing.

    I also know Ernie Irvan. He was our track champion back home in Stockton Ca years ago. I helped out on a car that raced against him back in those days.

    Well, that was the idea. The question was "Anybody gonna watch..."?

    My answer was, for those astute enough to put the clues together, "no". I'm not slaggin on it. I'm not condemning those who watch it. I'm just saying that it bores the BeJesus out of me. As for "letting" you watch it...

    It's gonna be hard to top Daytona...I drove down there 16 hours last weekend and man, what a race!!! I'm a Matt Kenseth fan myself but as long as Tony Stewart doesn't win I'll be ok.

    Okay, okay, point taken....but you have to understand how much guff we take off of people that DO slag on it.

    There are a lot of things I don't understand.

    I do know that ya can't argue with the amount of money race fans spend, so there there must be something about it that appeals to a whole lot of very devoted people.
    I've got a notoriously short attention span when it comes to televised sports anyway. Unless the Broncos are playing, I can't even get interested in football.

    Luckily for me, there are about a thousand pieces of empty brass in different calibers out in my man cave. That'll give me something to do today. I'll knock out some more 30-40 then focus on the 7.7 Jap.

    Amen. I don't understand why people get all excited about cars driving around in circles for hours on end. Why not just go to the nearest shopping mall, sit on the roof of the parking garage, and take bets as to who will get what parking space as they come?

    now now.. dont be bashin earnhardt, I could win some money if he wins! I never knew why i liked watching cars go around and around a track, best part is when they crash. Daytona 500 had a NICE finale!
