Do you name stuff?

I do. Not everything, though. I had a car named Super Chicken, a bike called The Torpedo, and many of my tools have proper names. I have two hammers with names, Mjollnir (the hammer of Thor, branded in Futhark runes on the handle) and Malleus Malifacarum (sp), Double-ended Poking Thing, Big Orange-Handle Prying Screwdriver, Graunching Stick (HUGE round file I use to fishmouth tubing for metal fab).

It sounds odd, I know, but these are objects I use so much that they have developed personalities, so to speak. I have a connection to them.

    I give the women I'm with little names, but that is all.

    My wife is ewok, you know those furry little guys on star wars?

    My only women I had a serious relationship I nicknamed squaw, she was a indian girl up in Alaska.

    I think that naming things is more common in the South - some people in my life have thought me nuts for it.

    The Lawnmower I bought with a $5.00 loan from my Dad, the source of much of my spending money, was named "Calhoun".

    My first vehicle, a 1969 Datsun Pickup, I named "Kaboobie", after a Magic Camel that was popular on Saturday Morning Cartoons, because it had a camper shell on its "back", thus hump on back=Camel...

    First Motorcycle - "Ol' Blue"...

    First Pistol - (talked about it over in "Favorite Caliber" thread) - "Thumper"...

    First Rifle - "Remote Control"....

    and so on...

    No, not really. Except....
    many years ago the first "big" wrench I bought was a 27mm; use it a lot!
    Whenever I get it out...."This calls for the old Billy Baroo. Oh Billy, billy, billy, billy, billy."

    I named my er... male member Excaliber. My wife said "Fine, maybe that will help you remember to pull it out at the appropriate time"[:D]
