the main question you have to ask is if you want insulated or not. Insulated is more expensive. I think most are all the same, but if I did it over again, I would get a soft insulated pair.

cheap ones will work but only last 5 years or less. It depends if your going to spend a lot of time in them then get a good pair. you are probably going to spend 100-150 for a decent pair.

These days the choices are neoprene and Gore-Tex. If you plan to use them for duck hunting go neoprene. If only fly fishing in warm country, Gore-tex. Don't forget the chest belt!![:0][^]

I've got Neoprene for cold weather fishing and they do keep you warm. I bought some lightweight breathable waders for summer but I have wore layers (longjohns, sweatpants, ect) underneath and that will keep you warm too. You'll want felt soled boots if you are planning on wading on rocky streams but I don't know how well they'd be duckk hunting. Mud seems to stick to them pretty bad. They make boots ($$$) that have interchangeable soles. If you fish more in the summer than duck hunt in the cold I'd go with the breathable and wear something warm underneath. You'll sweat your a$$ off in the neoprene in the summer.
