Exploring a piece of history

...I've been watering cattle for a friend during harvest season. They're pastured out in the old Joliet Army ammunition plant property. Thousands of acres there. I'd sneaked in there before, but got tired of playing cat and mouse with security people. It's more fun being there legally. I have a lot more exploring to do.

    Nice pics. I live a couple of miles from the Charlestown Army Ammunition Plant that was deactivated a few years ago. The state park was given several thousand acres along the Ohio River and the rest is being converted to an industrial park. It's got the same type of bunkers which are still closed to the public. Every now and then they give tours. Lots (and I mean Lot's) of deer and turkey there.
